Not Joining Facebook Makes You Suspicious

I used to trust the media to tell me the truth, tell us the truth
But now I've seen the payoffs everywhere I look
Who do you trust when everyone's a crook?

It's odd that Eduardo Saverin renounced his American citizenship and moved to Hong Kong, or wherever it was (China?).

Singapore, I think. But once you consider why he (admitted that) he came here, it's not odd at all. He said that he only renounced his Brazilian citizenship and became a U.S. citizen to get an education and because of the financial benefits. The tax treatment in Singapore is better than here - and he apparently still has some more Facebook shares in his pocket. But Singapore also has a VERY strict legal system, which includes corporal punishment. Remember the little American punk who was convicted of vandalism and got caned several years back? That was Singapore. :) And from the rumors on various financial forums, our pal Eddie likes to party. And the kind of partying that he is said to enjoy will get him more than just a few whacks on the ass if he gets caught. I hope he gets caught. :yesyes:

I'm guessing with his bank account ($2 billion U.S.) he has a lot more leverage than the average Singaporan (is that a word?). He is, as I understand, also from a wealthy and powerful family as well.

But I think it's in poor taste to renounce the citizenship of the country that more or less made your wealth and gave you an Ivy League education. Just suspicious is all...

Here is a little article I found interesting on some of his private life and his part in some of Facebook's startup: http://www.forbes.com/sites/anderso...hard-feelings-between-me-and-mark-zuckerberg/

I got rid of my personal Facebook account two years ago. The only reason I have a Facebook account for my stage persona is because it's a necessary evil. It's incredibly ignorant for people to think there's something wrong with you just because you don't conform to what everyone else is doing.

I deleted mine almost a year ago. I just got sick of people and their complainy status'. I activate it now and then if I need to get ahold of someone whose number I don't have, but that's it.

I have a lot of Facebook friends who have at least two account, one for real and one with their real name.

There is always a solution, Anders ;)

And if the police hasn't taken you in by know, you are safe. Better worry about Petra ...

This was basically my strategy, and for sure I do have one with an alias I more or less consider "real." Basically, just use it to post on news pages I visit and for a couple minor things.

Imagine, everyone, a day down the road wherein you are not even allowed to apply for a job if you don't have a Facebook. I can see this...

For business reasons sure. Dominoxxx is a brand name to be sold and marketed through all available outlets. Facebook is a great tool for that. I'm sure that you don't post your high school yearbook or family BBQ pictures in there.

That sounded like evidence in a disturbing murder case.

What also irritates me about it other than just the security and privacy concerns is that things like social networking sites are more about narcissism, stroking ones ego, and self promotion.....

Yep, I've seen that so many times with the people who used to go to my school. And my next door neighbours do it alot too. The other day they felt the need to tell the world they were having "a lovely BBQ in the sun in their back garden". It's like they were advertising the event.

I'll just get the polish for their trumpets. :blowjob: lol :)

So it means most 60+ people are 'suspicious'
