I know I have been more then outspoken about my displeasure with the way Gary Buttman runs the league, maybe this will be the proverbial hump, that finally breaks the fuckin camels back, and Gary Buttman will lose his job.. that would be 3 lockouts and 2 lost NHL seasons with that fucktard as the commissioner.. I think that's enough to get rid of him.. finally.. :horse::2 cents:

I'm not a Bettman fan but most team owners fully support him. Even with another lost season his job is likely safe until he decides to retire.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Hockey is dead. Soccer is going to take its place as the number four sport in America:D

Sorry dude, that will NEVER happen.. the NHL could be gone for 5 years and still be more popular and successful then boring ass soccer..:fishing:

You can say it's boring but soccer is gaining in popularity and has been for years now. The numbers don't lie

Ok we can pretty much say the NFL, MLB are the top 2 sports.. NHL fan attendance is better than the NBA's, the NBA probably has a better TV contract.. but will call the NHL & NBA even.. then you have NASCAR, racing etc.. then there's NCAA Basketball and Football.. Golf, Tennis etc.. UFC.. boxing.. then Soccer..

I'm just being sarcastic, but, I bet the fuckin Texas holdem' tournament has a better following then Soccer... lol.. sorry dude, I played soccer when I was younger, I lost interest real quick, when Baseball, Football, Hockey were more prevalent and exciting.. really, dude, soccer is like :fishing: its boring as fuck!!! Yeah goals are cool, but they are few and far between.. and I know its HUGE across the pond for sure..

But IMHO it has way too much competition to compete here in the states. of course that's just my opinion, but I am pretty fuckin sure more people would side w/ me about soccer being boring as fuck, then, siding w/ you and saying its an exciting up and coming sport that will thrive to the status of most of the USA / Canadian sports.. not to be an ASS but watching a :chickendance: is more exciting. :rofl2:

The thing about soccer in America that is interesting is that a whole generation of kids has now played it, and HUGE numbers of kids continue to play it. Those kids are going to grow up with an interest in soccer. There are far more kids playing soccer than playing hockey. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact that has on which sports get high ratings.

I think a lot of kids out grow soccer by when the reach high school and just aren't quite good enough to make their team. That happened to me a while back. The thing about soccer is that it's a ton of fun to play and it's cheap, but it is just so god awful to watch. When you're playing you don't realize that it is going so slow and you're not doing much because your adrenaline is pumping, but watching it is terrible

You are correct numbers don't lie, however statistics are skewed. MLS has 12 teams, every other Major sports league in North America has at least 30. Also, MLS attendance is skewed by outliers like the Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps. Finally, MLS has a 34 game regular season (thats 17 home games), NBA & NHL play over 2.4 times more games. So saying that MLS is even begining to have the popularity of the big 4 (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA) based on your stats is like saying that the Democratic National Convention is more popular than the NFL based on average attendance.

I wonder what the effect of the lockout will be on the teams that are always struggling (Columbus, Phoenix, Florida, Islanders, etc). I wouldn't be surprised if next year we see two teams move; one to Seattle and another to Quebec. For a league that is so dedicated to keeping teams where they are the NHL sure doesn't realize the damage another lockout is going to do.

These are wise words, which is surprising, considering the poster is a twat.

A team in Seattle is as good as a team in Phoenix, KC, Milwaukee or you name it. It's not a hockey hotbed. I would say maybe Portland just because of the lack of MLB and NFL teams, but seasons in NBA and NHL are both during the Winter.
