Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Then I was sickened by what happened in St. Louis, the Kings were pretty much dominated the whole game, then managed to get the tying goal in the last minute too ensure overtime, then the hero of last years Kings Playoffs (Quick) makes a terrible play behind the net and it resulted in the goal that gave the Blues the win, not only was it a terrible play by Quick but it was shorthanded to add insult too the misery.

Quick was very lackadaisical on that play for sure. I have no idea what he was thinking. Steen had just jumped onto the ice on a line change and went at the back of the net very aggressively, no one from the Kings was there to help (that's crazy....who was supposed to be covering him for LA???), Quick coughs up the puck and Steen wraps it around the post for the winner. I really felt that the Blues would lose after that backbreaking tying goal by the Kings with less than a minute to play but the Blues' non-stop effort in the game finally paid off with the shorty in OT. I predict that whoever wins game #2 will win the series.

And finally my Red Wings who haven't won a game 1 on the road this Century looked pretty flat, Howard played a stellar game again, both goals he allowed were almost impossible to stop, a deflection / tip got past him and another one he was totally screened and didn't even see.

All in all, it was a + that, we only lost by a goal if you don't count the empty netter, I think Detroit will play better in game 2 and hopefully steal a win in Anaheim too come home with the series tied, if not oh well, don't expect Detroit too get very far this year anyways, it doesn't really matter if they lose in the 1st round this year, it was just an incredible feat, for this team to make the playoffs, any advancement in this years playoffs will be a bonus and a pleasant surprise too boot, oh well, now I have too wait until Thursday to see if this series will be evenly competitive. :hairpull: :fishing:

The Wings will be all right but that has to include a must-win in game #2.

Very good Will impersonation!

If they make it out of the first round, I'll create a sonnet, declaring your brilliance.

If they don't, you have to tell me how smart I am.

I don't like sonnets. Make it a dirge or lullaby and I will consider it.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
How 'bout them Sharks?

They could be the biggest sleeper since they started the season 12-0 if I remember correctly.

I had no interest in this series mainly because I don't like either team, I am confident one of them will advance  2 of the biggest all-time choke artist teams that exist in the Western Conference playing each other in the 1st round hmm something has to give :D I know both teams have gone pretty far in the playoffs, but always seems like they always stall in the big game. I don't see either of them in the WCF's if that's where your taking this? anyways that's just my :2 cents:

The other 2 games were a joke!! I have no illusions or any hope that the Isles have any chance against the Pens and it was painfully obvious in tonight's game, the Pens dominated, I see a sweep coming, I think it will be the same story in the Bruins / Maple Leafs series, Boston is gonna dominate Toronto!! We'll see if the Leafs can be competitive in this series, but the Bruins just looked to strong and have way too much Playoff experience for the Leafs, I see a really quick series here, maybe 2 teams in the East might be getting swept. :yoda:

Yes, they are both notorious for never grabbing a Cup title. It could probably be a Hawks-Pens final.

We'll see if both of them make it out of there respective conferences, I think, the Kings, Blues, or maybe a dark-horse may have something too say about the Hawks getting to the Finals, and I think the Pens will have to get past either the Bruins or the Caps before they rep the East, I don't think either have it made for sure. :2 cents:

2 out of 3 stinkers for sure last night- the isles get smoked, the leafs started out good but that redden goal looks like it completely changed the momentum of the game.
so is the NHL doing it's best to have (i know they want!) the NYR in the finals or at the least televised specifically on days by themselves? why are nyr v caps and mont v ott starting tonight?staggering 8 games over 3 days is going to give some teams more than a day or 2 off between series.
i hate the constant shoving of the NYR down our throats. they aren't that good of a team after that fluke year last season and i don't see them getting past the 2nd round IF they even get past the Caps. if the Caps were smart they would realize they are the way better team and maybe play this series like they are the better team instead of playing disinterested for minimum 3 games of the series.

Even if the Red Wings are eliminated the first round, 22 straight years making the playoffs is the biggest streak in national sports history. Of course with the re-alignment and the Red Wings going to the East next year, things may be a little bit different.

The Kings-Blues tilt tonight should be killer. I'm thinking the defending champs pull out all the stops and try to beat the Blues up. I'm hoping the Blues just hit 'em right back instead of cratering like they did last year. Interesting that Kopatar is moving up to the first line to go against Backes. That'll be a helluva battle.

How 'bout them Sharks?

The 'Nucks have been tanking in recent days. The Sharks will take this series.

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
I sure hope the Blackhawks post season is as successful as the regular season was. Lets get it rolling, I'm ready for some NHL playoffs.

I've always wanted the Blues to win a Cup. They've been in the league for quite a while with no hardware.

Quick is my boy for sure and I dig Dustin Brown but maybe the Blues need to move on since LA won last year. We'll see...
