So Jordan Staal got moved to Carolina just now. Even if it is because his brother plays there, it's good for the game to have a big time player like Staal wanting to go down to a southern team.

What are these rules now?

I think the first one is for something like using your hand to hide the puck from the other team when you're at the net, and the other is using your hand to direct the puck at a faceoff.

Thomas for Schenn and Kadri. Now there's a Toronto-style move!

Pretty sure Chiarelli could get more out of Toronto than that :D

The draft was alright. Too many defensemen that'll take too long to get the NHL for me to get too excited about anyone. The B's getting Subban was weird/hilarious/awesome though. Unfortunately, I couldn't see it live, because they made their second channel jump right before the pick (to the NHL network, which I don't get). I was a little worried that he'd be a bit of an over-confident shit-headed prick like P.K., but I saw his interview on NESN and he seemed like a wide-eyed, humble, solid kid. Of course it'll be a while before he gets anywhere near the NHL though.

Figured I'd stop in and congratulate one of my all time childhood heroes, Adam Oates, on getting elected to the Hall Of Fame and his new head coaching job in Washington.

Well said! I am thrilled that Adam Oates made it into the Hall. Sixth all-time in assists. And I see the Capitals being a better team with him coaching. Obviously Joe Sakic was a no-brainer and a first-ballot Hall of Famer, so that's great, but Mats Sundin as a first-ballot Hall of Famer over the likes of Brendan Shanahan? That doesn't make sense to me. I know that Mats had a better points-per-game average in his career, but Shanny still finished with more points overall, and more goals, and is the only player in NHL history with over 600 goals and 2000 penalty minutes. He won three Stanley Cups, and Mats never even played in a Cup Final. That's seriously ludicrous. And Pavel Bure deserved to get in as well, so that's good.

Pat Burns still isn't in the HOF. What a joke.

Something I've been wondering: Was Yakupov the best choice for the Oilers? I'm not talking about on-ice talent, but when I see him I get the impression that he is the type of player who wants to play in Chicago or New York just for the exposure.

What should he be in for? Driving the Leafs into the ground, or epic gum chewing?

I think you underestimate how much the Leafs being a joke means to the rest of the league.
