I fucking hate the lightning. Sorry to those fans. It isn't that they're a good team, they juts played an incredibly weak playoff team in this round.

I'm so glad they swept. Now they will be "rested" and not ready for the next series (in which they will be demolished).

[Mauser98k]Dirk, lemme drop some knowledge on you. This Tampa Bay team is the greatest hockey team ever assembled. It's not only common knowledge...it's straight up scientific fucking fact and cannot be disputed. If the entire roster retired after this season, they would all be first ballot hall of famers regardless of how many spots the committee allows. They would have to make an exception for this squad.[/Mauser98k]

You think the washington capitals are a weak team ? You must be joking right ? Any team that finishes the regular season first in the conference is anything but weak. Tampa beat the capitals because they outplayed them and where a better team overall. It's not like it was an easy series , far from it , it's just that the bolts wanted it more and every player on the team pushed towards the same goal. And as far as not being ready for the next round , since when does having a rest make you not ready for the next round ? I'm sorry but I really don't see any logic in your comment.

I believe what I said was that they are a weak playoff team. And they are.

I'm happy for the Lightning. They played well. They won't make it past Boston.

I don't know why I'm rooting for the Bruins since I was a Legion of Doom, Eric Lindros and LeClair fan, but something about the Bs being the only pro sports team in Bawston that hasn't had a title in so long makes me want them to win.

i hope Tampa keep their heads up and their eyes open in the Conference Final. Boston are a goon oriented, cheap shotting dirty team.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Blue line depth may be the key to the Bs-Bolts series. There will be plenty of goals in this series.

Hopefully the NHL can figure out a way to start the series before next Friday. Grew up a Bs fan, living in Bolts country.

Well fuck you Boston. Fuck you.

That said, I think you're now the favourites to win the cup.

Assholes.

A lot of people thought they would not get past Washington either.

Except for all the people who have followed Washington for the last many years - their playoff record is horrible.

Getting past the Capitals in the second round is not very impressive. Their first round victory over a depleted Penguins team (coming back from down 3-1) was far more impressive than this sweep of the Capitals. First seed in the Eastern Conference doesn't make the Caps a favourite in this or any other series (they were the first seed and President's Trophy winners last year and lost in the first round to the eighth seed Montreal Canadiens). In fact, Boston has been the Eastern Conference favourite despite being the #3 seed all along. I think many people (myself among them) did pick the Lightning to win this round. More than would normally pick a #5 seed over a #1 seed.

The Caps are more than just a weak playoff team, they're a terrible playoff team. They haven't gotten past the second round with the team they have now. The Lightning will definitely be up against their toughest opponent in Boston for the Prince of Wales Trophy. That being said, I think it'll be a helluva series.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
OK, Fuckers.. :horse: I see we've got allot of Detroit Haters in the thread, and thats alright, need I remind you, since your rubbing it in right now, that we've WON 4 Stanley Cups since 1997 that's Natural for people too hate the Most Pimpin team in the last 14 years or so, but @least I have a little hope and pride left... The Sharks didn't sweep us and each game has been by 1 fuckin goal and you may say lucky goals or weird goals but nonetheless they've been bouncing SJ's way so far.. lets NOT forget the Flyer's vs. Bruins last year and Chicago almost turning the trick against the Canucks this year, The Fat lady isn't singing yet.. haha... Peggy hasn't hung up the phone yet... so you better realize and DISOCVER that weirder things have happened then seeing a teams momentum disappear in one game for 1 reason or another... just for arguments sake if the RED WINGS are able to pull out a game 5 win on Sunday, then were back too JLA for game 6.. and so on... and with the way these games have been so close, ALL 1 goal games mind you, you never know? Detroit might start getting the LUCKY bounces and the WEIRD goals, SJ is CURSED, they've had a spell on them for years now... :dunno::elaugh:

I know its a long-shot, but its there, and until SJ wins that 4th game IT AIN'T OVER YET.. and trust me, as much as you guys hate DETROIT, I love my team that much and hope I can turn around and have the last laugh in the next week or so.. if NOT then so be it.. but @least I have tasted the SWEETNESS of winning the Stanley Cup from a FANS perspective 4 times in my life and they were soooo SWEET too be able too experience... See, you get a chill that runs down your spine when you see your favorite team win it all.. and your favorite players dancing around like a bunch of kids skating around the ice throwing up Lords Stanley's Chalice in there moment of victory... not too mention the help of allot of  and other fun stuff too indulge the experience while watching your team in those ICONIC MOMENTS after winning it all that will undoubtedly last your, MY entire lifetime... that's right I can say I've seen my team win 4 times.....so far in my life... :D :nanner: OK STDiva I am feeling it a bit and REPRESENTING my team and expressing it!!

I like The Red wings :hybrid:

What you say is true. But I honestly can't talk smack to Marlo. Even though the Oilers have won five and the Red Wings four since the Oilers inaugural season, there's really no argument I can make against a Red Wings fan because the Red Wings have won all four of those Cups since the Oilers won their last one in 1990 (and have won more than twice the number of Cups overall). A Red Wings fan has every right to praise their team above all others (except Montreal), including Toronto because even though the Maple Leafs have more Cups overall, they haven't won since 1967 and Detroit has won four since then and is on a 20-year playoff appearance streak, which I personally find highly impressive.

They are (sigh) the best run organization in sports. The number of sixth or seventh-round picks (and sometimes even deeper) they draft who become superstar players is ludicrous. Incredible scouting. I hope they beat the Sharks. I don't like the Sharks. The Red Wings, even if I don't like them all that much, I have to respect them.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
See there.. Rod pointed out some of the things that I was gonna RE-remind you Shit talkers about, but, with a little help from Rod I can just say.. Detroit hasn't had a 1st round pick since they selected MARTIN LAPOINTE in what year was that?? he's kind of RETIRED by now, and he turned out too be a great team guy, and a guy that would drop the gloves for his teammates in a heartbeat, but he didn't become a superstar like some of the other Red Wings that were selected in LATER rounds.. The track record speaks for itself.. just look @ Detroit's star players over the years and see what round they were selected..:eyeso: Dats right, Detroit hasn't had the luxury of stock piling # 1 picks and or winning lottery picks year after year.. GOT Damn 4 championship later, since that # 1 pick and I'd say thats a might bit impressive if you'd ask me, Oh yeah and lets not forget the Red Wings have won other Championships before my time. :D

Do you even realize how SICK Detroit would be if they never lost VLADIMIR KONSTANTINOV OR JIRI FICHER too unforeseen tragedies or if they ever traded down for better draft picks, or didn't trade away certain draft picks... think of some the players Detroit traded for, for whatever reasons.. Detroit is and has been the cog in the NHL that makes other GM's and fans Jealous and envious.. So before you decide to rip on the wings just think about the YOUR teams present success before you decide to talk $hit..
