8-2 Oilers? What the hell? Seriously? Vancouver should be the best team in the West bar-none. Do they really suck this much without Luongo?

Yeah they were actually giving out skates to fans in the Rexall Center so they could score goals on the Schneider in net.

Where the hell have you been Rod?

It was the offseason; I was drinking, couldn't type...

If Vancouver loses again to Edmonton tonight I'm throwing a midget through the wall.

Did you do it?...

Maybe the Oilers are just that good. No, seriously though, it's preseason. I'm excited with the Oilers play thus far, but I can't get too excited. We have to see what happens when the games actually matter.

Vancouver will at least be the best team in their division for sure.

Probably... but they won't be the best in the conference, nor will they win a Cup anytime soon.

I feel bad for Curtis McElhinney sometimes. Really nice guy, was one of the few players I liked on the Flames while he was there. Can never seem to catch a break, though. Has let in seven goals so far tonight against the Kings. Shit.

You know rodfarva, if you come out with your predictions and you have Edmonton willing the Northwest, I probably wouldn't rib you too much about it at this point. The Oilers have been much more impressive than the Canucks this preseason. Shit.

Kicked Detroit's heads in tonight. The King looked real good. Playoffs this year. Don't worry I'm an eggo during the hockey season.

"I didn't want to come (to Tampa) just for one season, i'd love an extension" --- Simon Gagne on NHL on the Fly.

it'd be great if he signs a longer contract with us

I am pissed that my local cable sports affiliate won't show the Bruins vs. Belfast Giants game this weekend.

I think the most important thing on Steve Yzerman's mind must be signing Stamkos to a long term extension , after that if Gagné deserves it , and if he doesn't ask for too much money , he might get an extension with Tampa.

I agree at that point Stamkos needs to get his long term deal and if Gagne stays healthy and he plays well then get him extention

Tampa power play needs to be MUCH better. this game should not be in OT.

luckily we win anyway. Smith stops 29 of 30. hopefully that's the kind of goaltending we get from him this year

Wild about to sign Jose Theodore. I would say the last thing we need is another dirty Frenchman on our team, but he does still have game.

Actually he's a quebecer not a Frenchman , they come from France not Quebec. And what do you have against French speaking people anyway ?:D

Meh, I'm just ribbin' you guys a little. It's sort of like when Jack Johnson and Ryan Kesler said at the Vancouver Games they hate the Canadians. Sort of the same thing. Besides, I have family there. It's just the fact that the Canadians are so fucking high on their horse and shit. :nono: :)

And clarify for me please, aren't the majority of Quebecers of French stock (blood)? Same thing, in a lot of ways.

After several centuries, I think the people of Quebec should be given for credit for having their own culture that is independent of any other and quite unique. Les Quebecois have brought many amazing things to the world (not the least of which are poutine and tourtiere pie). I've been everywhere there is to go within Canada and the best place I've visited is definitely Quebec City.

Excuse me for pointing out your ignorance, but calling les Quebecois and French people the same thing is precisely the same as calling white Americans of British descent British. I think that Americans are culturally independent from the British at this point, as are les Quebecois from the French.

Clearly the Quebecers are a unique case. Why else would they want to retain all things Fre...I mean, Quebec? I remember some time not long ago they wanted to secede from Canada.

And also, quite a few Americans identify just as much with the "old country" as they do being American. There are towns in the Midwest that cherrish their Scandy, Irish, and German herritage and there are many festivals to display that pride.
