NHL '09/'10 Season Thread

This season is getting blocked out of my memory. Carolina Hurricanes have done awful. :dunno:

I don't even watch the games anymore.

I figured the Kings would do good this season, but I never expected them to be tied for third-best in the league.

Dean Lombardi is really one of the best GMs in the league , he has built his team from the ground up through the draft and now it's finally paying off. That's the way a championship team is supposed to be built.

So far the B's are hanging in there.

There were few games that they had no business losing, but on the whole, I got no complaints.

I'm just hoping they can start pulling away from the middle of the pack soon. They are a better team than their record indicates.

I wonder what kind of reception Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Kane will receive in Buffalo tonight, given that infamous incident with a Buffalo cab driver during the offseason.

Your Answer: He got booed every time he touched the puck, just like Campbell

The NHL has signed a letter of intent to sell the Phoenix Coyotes to Ice Edge Holdings.

Fucking sweet. I can't wait till they come play some games in Saskatoon.

I thought they were staying in Arizona??

One of Ice Edge's plans for the Coyotes is to play several home games in Saskatoon in order to bolster revenues and allow Canada to have another team in a way.

I'm not sure if it is one of their conditions for buying, or something they just want to do once they have the team, but I can't see them wanting to buy the team because that was one of the bigger points when they first said they wanted to buy the Coyotes.

That'd be awesome. Hopefully this goes through.

Saskatoon? Why not Quebec City or Winnipeg?

Saskatoon is a bad choice, I fear...

You know, I'm not sure why not.

I think they aren't going to Winnipeg because the Manitoba Moose have priority there. There would be too many scheduling conflicts. Quebec would make sense, but it is close to Montreal. I remember reading something that said they wanted to give pro hockey to a part of the country where a team isn't a three hour drive away, and since places like Quebec and Hamilton are less-than a day's drive away from a city with an NHL team they opted not to. The two cities they talked about first were Saskatoon and Halifax. I suppose they chose Saskatoon because we have a bigger province and a larger arena, which was just upgraded since we are hosting the World Juniors in a couple weeks.

Either way, I'm not complaining.

good. i was worried Tampa's shitty playing days were behind them. that's something like 8 of the last nine have been losses

if it weren't for the Hurricanes, Tampa would look bad, LoL. Last i checked, the Canes were nine points behind everyone

yep. we have 5 guys who should be able to get 35+ goals in a season. there should be no reason for this kind of play

Colorado doesn't have a better team on paper than Tampa and they were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the NHL this year but look at the way they are playing ... The Lightning are not giving all they have and it shows. If Vinny and Tanguay had their usual production the team wouldn't be losing like that. I hope Tanguay doesn't think he will get a salary as big as what he had a few years ago with 5 million + on his next contract , he's going to be lucky to get 1 million , I never thought I would have to say this but even 2,5 million is too much to pay for him. Note to Tampa ownership : Prospal > Tanguay
