Boston and Montreal would be a good series if Boston wakes up for tomorrow

Here’s an idea a couple of us came up with. I repeat, an idea we came up with. Not a rumor. Malkin and a fifth round pick to Edmonton for the first overall selection, Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson and Sheldon Souray.

Malkin is the star attraction Edmonton has been looking to build around and plays center, a place the Oilers need help. And it would allow Malkin to get out from under Crosby’s shadow, giving him a chance to fully blossom as the leader of his own team.

Pittsburgh would net Taylor Hall with the No. 1 pick, an 18-year-old scoring winger most feel is already NHL ready; just the type of sniper Crosby needs patrolling his wing. Paajarvi-Svensson is another young talent who plays the wing. He’s a speedster in the mold of Phil Kessel. He may not have 40-goal talent, but he’d look good eventually playing alongside No. 2 center Staal.

That would be a pretty interesting deal.

I was pretty sure they'll sweep the Phillies in four after the third game, but when they lost the first one I was like "oh oh"...and now here we are. Last year I was sure that they will beat the Canes at home in Game 7...yeah, that didn't happen either.

The AHL finals are coming up now too. I got someone in there. Actually my boy's team just had a classic victory over the Wolves :hatsoff: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcon...rs/stories/051410dnspotexasstars.30fbda7.html

Hard to get these games televised though.

I get Syracuse games a lot. We have an ECHL team right here in town the Elmira Jackals. They're affiliated w/ Syracuse, who's the AHL farm team for Columbus. You said your boy's team. You got a friend on that team?

Christ. Are French Canadians desperate for success or what? It's only the Semi Finals. I'll give credit to Calgary and Edmonton; when they got this far, at least they didn't turn violent (I think?).

Ok, how about we call a truce? No more hostilities. As fellow Canadians (I think) we should be ganging up on Scott instead of fighting.

I'm not sure about Calgary, but Edmonton definitely got out of hand at times. For the most part, people were out to party and have a good time and it was basically one gigantic love fest, but some people went overboard and a lot of damage was done to Whyte Ave. The mayor actually threatened to shut down Whyte because of all the damage and mayhem, but he never did. I remember there was something like 250 arrests one night and the Edmonton Journal put pictures of 8 people who were particularly destructive on the front page of the paper to try to get people to call in with information if they recognized them. But it was mainly just a few people out of thousands who made it seem like we were a bunch of drunken buffoons, and it's probably the same thing in Montreal right now.

Truce has been called. And to start our Canadian gang-up... Canada may have lost to the Swiss (who are actually a pretty good team and just beat the Slovaks 6-0) at the World Championships, but at least we didn't go winless in the preliminary round and get relegated with Italy, Kazakhstan, and France. That's just awful. Plus, we just beat Norway 12-1, with newly added Jordan Eberle scoring a goal and four assists. I love that kid.

P.S. The World Championships are still irrelevant.

The Yankees win the World Series once every four yrs and you don't see us tearin New York a new asshole. And I thought we already established the irrelevance of the world cup.

How the hell does Denmark beat Slovakia 6-0? I know the Slovak team isn't that great cause most their players aren't participating, but come on! Denmark!

That's because the Yankees win so often no one cares anymore.

Sorry I was at the store buying a pizza for tonights game, what'd you say? Just kiddin. Can't use that argument. Montreal is only three championships behind the Yanks.

More like blood. Let's just say there is someone on one of the semi's teams that has ties to my immediate family. ;)

COOOL. FYI, Plasma & Rod made a pact to gang up on your "Yankee ass", they didn't actually say "Yankee ass" I just threw that in for dramatic effect, but I got your back. I'm hungry for some Canadian bacon.

Oh yeah, I read the boards; it's just their Canadian inferiority complex. :D Imagine if we would've won the Gold, how much grief they 'd be catchin' around here. Oh well, it is their game, and they just barely beat us.

Id say a few olympics from now and we will be neck and neck with them as far as tallent goes. Let them have their fun while they can. ;)
