Out of all those players Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Palmer, and Eli are either very old for a professional athlete or very close to getting there. Most if not all of them will either be gone or shells of their former selves in the very near future, even next near wouldn't be surprising for any of them. People like Manning and Brady are also the exceptions to the rule with QBs being as good as old as they were, so it's not looking to great for the rest. Sure rule changes and medical advances help, but only so much. Even the youngest Roethlisberger has taken a lot of abuse in his time in the league. Time is the only one undefeated, just ask Manning. Some people might think Brady and go to his mid 40s like he says he wants, but remember when Manning had one of the best seasons in history just two years ago, and was neck and neck with Rodgers for the MVP until about week 12 last year? Brady is at a place where people can almost age overnight.
Newton I'm still skeptical on. He won't always get to face the easiest schedule in the league every year, defense is more variable than offense and harder to keep together so he won't always have that to fall back on, and he just doesn't seem like the type of person that's going to hold on once his speed and elusiveness starts to slip, and it always does (or he gets a bad injury). I don't see him as an elite pocket passer once people can key up on him more. Luck didn't look that great this year, even before he got hurt. Indy sucks and Luck while good isn't Manning v.2 and one of the few players in history to be so awesome at what he does he can single-handedly take a crappy team and make them decent or good. If he's smart he will be planning on getting out of Indy to go to a good team that will let him win and keep him from getting killed to prolong his career. I wouldn't be surprised if the money also would work out better for him that way. Instead he will probably take the huge paycheck from Indy first and be saddled with his situation. Wilson is probably the best in the league going forward unless somebody else new comes along better or somebody like Dalton develops elite level competence. Wilson has the same problem with his defense Newton does and not being as good once his elusiveness goes, but he also seems to read defenses better, and will be better able to stay in the pocket and sling it if that's what's required of him. He just seems smarter to be brutally honest and is younger.
