NFL '10/'11 Season Thread.

Raiders fan. We need a WR first and foremost. Then a no. 2 CB. This is assuming we stick with Gradkowski at QB, otherwise that'd be need number 3.

Also, Mike Martz. Huge. Huge.

Yeah. How did that work out for the Lions? I mean da Bears aren't the complete cluster fuck that the Lions are but Martz has to be the most overrated "offensive genius" in the history of the league. He had All Pro's at almost every position in St. Louis and that became a joke while he was there. Sure injuries and age had some effects. When he has had mediocre talent he has had mediocre results at best.

i just hope the Redskins do not under any circumstances draft a qb. we need o-lineman like 6 or 7 new ones not a qb. i bet Campbell will be better with a real o-line and some time to throw

The One and Only Big Daddy
With the 13 and 16/17th pick, I hope the 49ers grab 2 of the following.

Bryan Bulaga OT, Iowa - Get Alex Smith some time to throw the ball. Maybe prevent a sac or two. Or 9.5

Earl Thomas FS, Texas - The defense is going to be tight, but a ball hawk like Thomas could make it elite.

Everson Griffen DE, USC - We have no pass rush. Griffen will help. Plus, the more Trojans the better.

Taylor Mays SS/OLB, USC - This might be a reach. He will probably be available in the 2nd round. His stock has dropped after the Trojans fail season.

C.J Spiller RB, Clemson - They need a big play threat. Spiller is this years Percy Harvin. He'd make their offense better and their league worst return game. RB isn't a big need for them though. Might be better to wait and grab Jahvid Best out of Cal in the 2nd round.

I wouldn't be opposed to drafting a mid/late round QB to sit develop for a year or so either. LeFevour, Snead, Perrilloux. Although I like Nate Davis. We'll see. Our D is going to be top 5 in a year or two. Our offense is goin to open up with Vernon Davis, Gore, Coffee, Crabtree and Morgan. We need a QB lead them. Smith and Hill are not the answer.

That is Spiller is around that long that would be a deadly 1-2 combo for the 49ers with a pretty good running game it would just get better with Spiller or Best but like you said keep working on that O-Line and they could be the Jets of the NFC I know not to much to compare to but both teams have come a long way

That's half of the problem though; the Browns have had two quarterbacks for far too long now. They need one established quarterback who can take control of the team. The whole two quarterback system is part of the reason that our team sucks so bad. Why? Because, without one established quarterback, you are left with two mediocre quarterbacks, neither of which has the ability to take control of a team. The team can't get comfortable if they don't KNOW who their quarterback is and it is clearly visible that the Browns offense isn't comfortable or confident with the quarterbacks that they are given. One week it's Quinn, the next week it's Anderson, the next week it's back to Quinn...it's so stupid and aggravating. Pick one, stick with him and let the team come together.

Anderson is gone. He is due a big roster bonus on March 1.......I don't think there is any way the Browns will pay it.

I hear that man. If you look at the stats, Campbell didn't really have a "bad" year, and even if they wanted someone new, we have a good qb in Colt Brennan that could be molded for the future. I still think they should have given him a shot during the low points in the season. I mean what did they have to lose? Of course, I don't know the extent of the injury he reaggravated in the preseason and how long it kept him on the bench. If Snyder stays out of the press confrences and spot light like he has since the end of the official season and lets Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen handle things the way football guys should, we might actually get somewhere. But what we need the most is a good o-line and for Snyder to know his place as the owner, not coach and gm.

I'm excited for the Lions this year. I'm not a fan or anything, but since I live across the river, I go watch them a few times a year. With a solid draft, I think they'll have a big improvement. Grab Suh, and a couple O-Lineman and things will look positive for the first time in years.

That depends on Al Davis. If some dude runs a fast 40 then he'll probably pick him over the team's needs.

yes it's true run a fast 40 and be picked by the sad sack raiders. although some teams have worse records they all have hope for a better future the raiders only hope is al's death so a new owner can fix that mess

"Grab Suh"? Detroit won't have a chance at him. The Rams will take him as the first pick....at least they had better! He's the best player in the draft so....hmmmm....maybe you're right! The Rams personnel department hasn't exactly done a sterling job of picking talent in recent years. If they end up taking Jimmy Clausen, I may burn my Rams jersey.

panthers need to sign peppers or trade his ass for a first rounder.
all we need is another athletic WR like Steve Smith.
backup o-linemen
pass rushing d-end if peppers leaves
backup strong safety

we are solid everywhere else especially running back.

I'm curious to see what Seattle does. They need a QB--maybe Matt Leinart would look nice in the neon green/turqoise :thefinger Or, they could draft the Hometown Hero, Mr. Taylor Mays, and basically send a message to the NFC West that passes in the middle of the field are offlimits.

I'm also curious what the Patriots will do. There are so many needs on defense that they'll probably bail the 1st round and try to get picks. I think the Pats need a beefy RB too. Hello Stanford Guy Whose Name Escapes Me As I Type :wave2: :o

What will the Dolphins do? They seem poised to make some noise...maybe a new LB or a new WR?

Colts - few more defence, maybe just some more back up players since a lot of Colts injuries through out the season and playoffs.

How about giving Seneca Wallace a shot?

Haha. You're right. They should grab Suh. But I have a funny feeling a QB will be the first overall pick.

I hope the Chiefs have finally worked their way out of Carl Peterson's mess finally because the AFC west has been a joke for to long now.

This might be the year that the #1 pick is traded. Suh might be the next Sapp but after him, everyone else has a few ???? about them. If we can make a case for 10 guys to be the #1 pick that means there really isn't a standout player. :dunno:

St Louis needs impact players. They need to draft someone who will contribute from Day 1. Maybe that is Suh and figure a decent QB can be had in Rd 2 or 3....

I wouldn't mind San Fran trading one of their 1st rounders and something else for the chance to take Suh.

Joey Porter reportedly wants out of Miami and would like to play for a 3-4 team on the west coast. He specifically named San Fran, Arizona and San Diego. San Fran needs to jump on this. Or sign Merriman. I believe he is a free agent. Porter had 9 sacks in a diminished role with Miami last season. A diminished role.
