NFL '10/'11 Season Thread.

Campbell In Oakland. It was obvious, when McNabb was traded in Washington, Campbell wouldn't have the starter place no more.
I hope he could do better than Russell at the Raiders.

I think Russell will be cut or traded. It seems the Raiders will go with Campbell v Gradkowski for their starter QB battle this summer.

Russell will either switch positions or be sent packing...:dunno:

9ers got Navarro Bowman in the 3rd round last night. Singletary is loving these physical guys. Teams are going to be hurting next year.

defense is the key to winning more and more teams are getting on board with that thought and shows with that draft alot of very beefy defenses out there now

Well here's the inevitable ~bitterness~ story from Taylor Mays about being passed over by PC. Ouch. There are some things in here that might be tough to read for any Trojan.

I won't toss Pete Carroll under the bus. I ~might~ buy what Taylor Mays is alleging (Pete gave him bad advice to get him to return to SC)...but the bigger issue..

San Francisco has the Defensive version of Randy Moss. Moss made it a mission to payback all the teams that bypassed him. I suspect Taylor Mays is going to be a doomsday machine for the Niners.

I guess Pete forgot about this year's media guide cover pic, eh?:o

Think about this: Coach "Samurai" Mike Singletary has THIS GUY in his defense  Heads will be rolling in San Fran this season!

The person Carroll picked was better anyhow.

Even discounting that for a moment why the hell should Mays think it's was Carroll's job to develop a system that gets him into as high a draft pick as possible instead of what he thought would maximizes the chances of USC to win games? Carroll's job was to coach USC football not get players being as high a draft pick as they could be or getting as big of contract in the NFL as possible.

Why would this surprise you? The lack of a consistent running game (especially on the goal line and short yardage) killed us last season. We lost 2 games because we couldn't power the ball in from the 1 last year. I sure hope Ben Tate is all that because I wanted Toby Gerhart.

When teams are constantly unable to pick up a yard or two when they need it, unless the back is trying to be fancy or is doing something stupid, it's almost always more the offensive lines fault that's happening than the backs.

(Sorry for the double post, multiquote wasn't working for me.)

Seattle picked up Lendale White and Leon Washington??? How did this slip by me? Seattle made some awesome moves this offseason and had a great draft. Fuckin Pete Carroll.

I have three teams of interest, the Cowboys as a life long fan, the Browns are my AFC team and a sentimental pick after Cleveland got hosed by the Ravens moving and the Lions just being a home state team.

1: Cowboys. Does Bryant become an off field worry but an on field leader like Irvin or does he become a complete locker room cancer like T.O.. Good job getting some DB help but really needed a safety. Why wait so long to draft a Tackle? Your most glaring need and you wait until day three to address it. Why?

2: Browns. Good overall draft. Too many holes to fill to try to hit a home run with one pick. Colt could end up being the guy. He doesn't have the "home state kid is our savior" or first round pick pressure to deal with.

3: Lions. Good draft. Addressed the glaring needs on defense and a home run hitter at RB. Could propel the team to the ranks of mediocre.

I'm sorry to say....but none of those teams will win the Superbowl

:1orglaugh The poor Lions, someday I hope that city gets a good football team and maybe a better city.

As long as Jerry Jones is the owner I think I'll continue to hate the Cowboys.

Every year since he bought the team I have said I'm done with them and I always come back once the season starts. I guess I'm just too damn loyal.
