'Batman begins' is in my oppinion the best batman movie yet (just my :2 cents: , mind you).
It's nearest to the original comic-book. I wasn't very fond of that surreal Gotham appearance. Here, Gotham is much more realistic. A metropolis. And every thing is explained very nicely. It's not like he was a good boy all his teenage years, and then just woke up one day and said: "I wanna be... Batman". You get to see a whole different side of him. His whims, inexperience, and gradual ascendance to the iron-willed character we know.

Don't get me wrong, the movie has its flaws, for some more, for some less. It's just a matter of taste really.

But the thing I like the best is that it has that goth atmosphere. And the crew is awesome.

I saw this movie this Thursday with my girlfriend. Within 40 minutes of the movie, I whispered to my girlfriend, "This movie is fucking awesome!" After the movie, I went online and read a lot of reviews for this movie, and I did not see a single bad thing about this movie. I mean for me the bad thing about it was that I didn't like Katie Holmes in here....especially since she didn't get naked. I seriously don't hope they make another one, because I don't know how you can further go on with the Batman series other then how he builds his reputation and brings in Robin.

Before this movie I think that the first Batman movie with Micheal Keaton was the best, well at least until the Joker pulled out a pistol and blew up the Batwing, my god was that corny....OH YEAH....BATMAN RULES!!!!1

Well 'Batman begins' ends just at the point of merging with the first batman. So there is no room for a movie that would chronologically be placed between those two.
This movie is excelent in my opinion. Truest to the comic book, and has that all-needed goth atmosphere.
Usually sequels cannot be compared to the originals, but I doubt the studios will miss the opportunity to make another movie with this crew.
Guess we'll see.

Theres something that confused me so I hope someone can clear this up for me.

When we are introduced to RaS' Al Gual's, he is Ken Watanabe (the guy from Last Samurai). But when Bruce Wayne asks Scarecrow who hired him, he says "Ras' Al Gual" and in the millionaire birthday party, it turns out to be Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson) and he ever says "You burned my house down and left me for dead, now I do the same." Ok now who is RaS' Al Gual? Is it Liam Neeson or is it Ken Watanabe? Or was Liam Neeson both of them and tricking Bruce Wayne?

Hey PenIsMightier (cool name  )

I don't really have an explanation for your question. At least not a certain one...

All I wanted is to say that I find your way of obscuring the text in order to spare readers potential spoilers a stroke of genius.
('Stroke' perhaps being not the best choice of words on this board, lol)

Wonderful

i saw this movie and it is pretty good... i would give it 9/10 its a very different take on batman

And it was about time to make that turn, given where the last two were heading to - dead end.
All in all - finally a decent Batman movie. What am I saying 'decent' - great!

In the comic Ra's Al Ghul's origin is unknown, but was believed to be arabic in origin....his name is arabic for "The Demon's Head."

I realize that, but movie wise, who is RaS' Al Gual. In the credits on IMDB, its listed as Ken Watanabe. But Bruce Wayne and Scarecrow both referred to Henri Ducard as RaS' Al Gual. So whats the deal of Ken Watanabe's part if he isn't RaS' Al Gual?

Best superhero movie ever. I thought even the Tim Burton movies were terrible. You could tell he thought the subject matter was a joke. In fact, the first Batman movie should have been titled "The Joker." The music was too loud and imposing, the pacing was terrible, and it's almost like the movie was more about the cool set design than Bruce Wayne. And the second one should have been titled "The Penguin." Overblown and too much footage of penguins walking around.

I never saw the Clooney one, but I thought Kilmer did a better job as Bruce Wayne, though that movie should have been named "Two Face and The Riddler."

Whoever said earlier in the thread that Warner's problem was that they didn't respect the subject matter or the subject matter's readers was dead-on. But they've finally reversed that rend with this one.

Liam Neeson's character was Ra's all along. Ken Watanabe's character was just a decoy, as Bruce points out at the party. The real Ra's (Neeson) states that Bruce, "let me to die and burned down my house" because Bruce thought Ra's was dead and died in the fire.

Batman Begins

Holy Cow! I saw Batman Begins last night, as i was going into the theater last night i was thinking about how bad the movie was gonna be. but after the movie i kept thinking to myself how they made that the best batman movie ever and are gonna keep making new batman movies. Christian Bale He is the best batman, Ra's Al Ghul and The Scarecrow were good villians in this movie and like Christopher Nolan Said " This movie will not be to stuck on the villians like they have in the past" they didnt miss a single thing that lead up to Batman Begining. Katie Holmes is a good Rachel Dawes. So if you were thinking about not seeing it because of how bad you thought it was gonna be, go see it! it will blow you away

Re: Batman Begins

Glad you liked it. It certainly is awesome.
But there already is a thread regarding this movie. You should check it out.

To people who saw the movie.....was it just me. Or did Christian Bale purposedly look like Tom Cruise half the time? Especially in the beginning when he has all that facial hair like Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai. It's pretty funny.

Yea I was thinking that too when I was watching the movie.

Christian Bale makes a great Batman- he has the physicality, the gloom. Although I wish he had some of the intelligence and guile that whatshisname had.

Great movie but the action sequences sucked bigtime.
