Must see movies before you die

^^^yes! and the Blues Brothers...all time classic

I really need to see Shaun of the Dead.

Sin City - for those who enjoy action movies and badass characters. Not really a must see but just a cool movie.

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Watch as many movies you can directed by Stanley Kubrick, Ingmar Bergman, Andrei Tarkovsky and Akira Kurosawa

& Sergio Leone, Alfred Hitchcock.

You could build a great film library right there. ^

I'd have to also throw in John Frankenheimer's Grand Prix. Interesting side story about Frankenheimer: in later years, someone set him up on a date with Christy Canyon. Apparently he knew who she was, but she didn't know who he was - but she did go out with him. From what I've read, there were more than a few Hollywood types who wanted to go out with her back in the 80's.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy should definitely be included. Not just from a Tolkien geek's point of view, but, I mean, how many total Academy Awards did the franchise win? :)

The original Star Wars trilogy should also be included because it has transcended 2 generations now.

What about something other than sci-fi/fantasy? How about Full Metal Jacket and Platoon? Or what about The Dirty Dozen? I think Yellow Submarine should be included. Maybe even The Wall.

:2 cents:

How about Full Metal Jacket and Platoon?

I wasn't sure if it was list worthy but I suppose with the lack of movies on my list I could make plenty of time for both those classics.

Heavy Metal (1981) - Never seen it what is it about? Does the title say it all?

Any Given Sunday - This should be watched mostly for Al Pacino's speech before they run out on to the field. IMO its an all time great inspirational movie speech.
