And Religulous is a very good film IMHO. I found the facts behind Christianity and other religions to be quite interesting. I never realized how Christianity, for example, stole all of it's foundations from previous religions. None of that really gave a reason to dislike the movie or think it's overrated.

Part of the brilliance of District 9 is that they did use unknowns, they did base it in the middle of nowhere, and they did use a very small budget.

What that guy basicly said is that it would of been better if it had used A list hollywood actors, had been directed by one of the usual suspects and was based in America.

I've seen that movie, it was called Independence Day.

District 9 was a breath of fresh air production wise, and the story itself was as simple as can be while still remaining completely gripping and intelegent.

While usually in any circumstance I'd say "Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man" the fact you used someone elses shitty blog to back up your opinion shows you know full-all. Stick to your hollywood blockbusters, son.

Cant say I thought District 9 was great. But that link is just pure and utter shit...

As for the "Unknowns"... that means only movies containing hollywood actors will be good... that however raises another question... what happens when the current stars retire, since all unknowns are shit no one will replace them...

The fact is that if this thing was directed by Steven Spielberg and starred Russell Crowe and cost $200 million dollars it would be a huge disappointment. It would've gotten 2 and a half stars out of 4. But it wasn't directed by Spielberg and didn't star Crowe, so it was good for the people who made it. It was good for them.

I'll put it this way, there is absolutely NOTHING that is original in Christianity. Every single tenet and plank in the foundation existed in religions that pre-date Christianity. So, they indeed did plagiarize HEAVILY when writing the bible. It's just a fact.....the stories are older than the Christ era. That's what most religions do......they take existing stories and craft/mold them into their own religion. The story of Christ had been told more than once before Christ....the names might have been different, but the facts were the same. Like I said, there is absolutely nothing original in Christianity.

I don't believe in virgin births in a stable (not orginal). I don't believe in the carpenter (not original). I don't believe in being crucified and then resurrected (not original). I don't believe in the 12 disciples (not original)? Fuck, they even stole the December 25th date. Oh I could go on and on and on. There is absolutely nothing that was original in Christianity that wasn't told in religions that pre-dated it.
