Maybe I should have read the whole thing. So the government would get into the medical insurance business and compete with the privates. Bankroll this with a tax. As much as I don't like government intrusion into the public sector, perhaps this could make choices more competitive.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Medical insurance is costly because of the risk of being sued. That's why we don't have general practitioners anymore. All primaries are specialists filling out forms running patients through gauntlets. This web costs money and time and stress on patients. One good thing that has supplemented costs are the Doc-in-a Boxes. Less people going for tests and simple treatments clogging up hospitals. Companies can partner with these places and pharmacies to reduce costs. I worked for a small drug chain that gave their employees $2 generic and $5 brand prescriptions. No one needed a prescription plan. Considering how many people work in that industry from part timers right to the top, there should be an opt out for them.
It has no effect on medical insurance.

It will be interesting to see what turmph replaces Obamacare with. I just think trumph presidency will be all about how he can generate tax cuts to his own business/family within the next 4 years. He does not care about people getting health care, or about if people are without benefits .... he just cares about himself

Then in the past 10 years the earth cooled 0.67 of a degree.
