Even being a soccer fan I must notice something :
One important thing is that Soccer is played in stadium while Basketball is played in venues.
In the Home Depot Center Stadium, 27,000 people can attend to the Los Angles Galaxy's games.
In the Staple Center, "only" 19,000 people can attend to the Los Angeles Laker' games.
I don't think the Home Depot Center is sold-out every time the Galaxy plays but I'm probably sure that the Staple Center is sold-out on most Lakers games.
