Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Red Sox need new talent? Youk is a future MVP, Pedroia has an MVP trophy. Ellsbury will get better. I hope they re-sign Bay. Martinez behind the plate. Lester, Buchholz and Papelbon are still young.

If the Red Sox have problems, then most major league teams are in the shitter.

The Sox won over 90 games this year and had the 4th best record in baseball. They are behind the Yankees and Angels talent-wise, but they would have easily won 100-105 games if they played in the National League

i love how almost everyone is hating on my World Champion Phillies yes the Rockies are a good team (who I would root for if the Phils werent in it) but lets not forget the Phils can out slug ANY team and yea i know about the bullpen and blah blah blah but Madson looked fantastic and 4 out of our 5 starters can go the distance almost everytime they pitch (Pedro being the only exception) .... and whats with the hating on the Angels who I knew would beat the Bum Sox asses Cards losing first 2 games a surprise but they dont give their pitching much run support wish they'd beat the Dodgers cuz i hate Manny who cant do shit without steroids........but it looks like Phils will have to beat them for the second yr in a row........Bring on the Yanks (bitches) IF they make it past the Angels

No one has even mentioned the Phillies, how can you "hate" on that which is not mentioned? Maybe not giving them their due respect. The Phillies are a great team but I do not see them getting past the Dodgers in the NLCS much less winning the World Series. If A-Rod and CC keep playing the way they have played so far, its a wrap for the Yankees.

Rockies - Philies game is postponed

Cardinals vs. Dodgers is the only game today - 6:07pm ET

Career game for Vincente Padilla today at the best possible moment.
Near pinpoint control.
Guy was all but untouchable.
Amazing.
Makes you wonder if the Dodgers are fated to go all the way.....
....but I still don't think so.
Whoever wins the ALCS should win the World Series.

I hate watching teams clinch.
1995. That is the last time my team clinched anything. 1995. Fourteen very long years. Nine seasons without a winning record.
Yeah, I saw 1990. And I do remember 1975 and 1976. But, I was young and very young in those ages. They were a long, long time. And I know there are teams that have gone longer (including the Dodgers), and some without. But, I still want to see my team out there, dumping champagne on each other. And seeing a bunch of guys in different uniforms doing so depresses me a little bit.
I will go with the old adage "Wait until next year", but I sometimes think that, with the way the Cincinnati Reds are run, next year is not coming for a long, long time.

That said, I am actually hoping for a Phillies/Angels series (I would really rather see the Dodgers and Twins meet...but deep down, I know that will not happen).

I hate watching teams clinch.
I hate seeing teams win for a different reason.

I think it's pretty stupid for teams to be in the locker room spraying champaign after they win the Division Series.WTF?! Is that all that you're playing for? Are you really that jacked that make it out of the first round?

I understand a hearty celebration after winning the pennant or the World Series, but to be going ape shit after winning the Division Series just seems like they really weren't expecting to win and they are just happy they did.

since my rays didnt make it.....go Rocks!

Oh man...

My primary team was eliminated today (Red Sox) and my backup team was eliminated the other day (Cardinals).

I'm predicting Yankees v Dodgers World Series. The Dodgers will pull it out in 7.

Yes, the Sawx have a good core of talent. But they are shockingly awful on offense and Dice-K better "bring it" next year or he will be one of the greatest busts in the team's history.

The Sawx have never figured out SS once Nomar was traded. The Sawx have no big boppers in the lineup now that Manny and (hopefully) Papi will be gone...JD Drew is a waste.

Which Big Stick can the Sawx sign? That's what I'd like to know...:dunno:

first of all Im talking about baseball professionals........which almost all of them picked the ROCKIES SMART GUY......and how'd that work out MY POINT EXACTLY even last season no one even picked the Phils to win the division and FUCK THE YANKEES they wont beat the Angels and btw didnt Victorino hit a grand slam off Sabathia last yr in the NLDS THANK YOU VERY MUCH:thefinger

also lets not forget ppl that the Phils BEAT the Dodgers last yr when Manny was all juiced up and all the Dodgers did was pitch around Utley and Howard. Btw Howard,Utley, Ibanez and Werth are tearing it up and A-Roid did that against weak Twins pitching who also didnt have Morneau either so I wasn't at all impressed

wow....there go the 2 NL teams i wanted in

and i wanted the twins in just because i think thats more entertaining than the yankees

now...i gotta root for an angels/dodgers series

Every baseball "professional" chose the Red Sox to beat the Angels in 5. They were wrong, and for the record, that Phils/Rockies series could have gone either way, the Rockies just blew it.

"Victorino hit a grand slam off of CC last year"...Whitey Ford pitched an 8-inning shutout in the 1950's World Series completing the Yankees sweep of the Phillies; who cares, in the past?

fuck the yankees. All they do is buy the games they win.

Every MLB team is owned by either a billionaire or a group of millionaires so its the other owners' faults for not putting money into their team to win. The Twins long-time owner, for example, before passing away and leaving the team to his son was one of the richest owners in baseball but was notoriously known as one of the cheapest as well. The Yanks are playing within the rules of the agreement in place after the 1994 strike (which incidentally happened because the owners wanted to put a salary cap in place and the players union, the MLBPA, did not). People use the "they buy their games" argument to as an excuse for their own team not winning but when the Yankees win: "They bought another championship" and when the Yankees lose: "Well, that just shows you can't buy a championship". Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
