If you want to hitch your wagon to a woman who makes extreme or outrageous statements on occasion, but still has a good command of facts and data, go with Laura Ingraham - you can thank me later. She went to a real law school (she was at Law when I was at Darden) - not a religious diploma mill that lost its accreditation shortly after she stumbled out the door. Life and age have caught up with Laura, but there was a time, let me tell you, when Playboy should have offered her a blank check to pose. In Michele's case, that's the only "value" that she really has (outside of unintentional comedy). But Laura, in addition to her one time hotness factor, is a very smart cookie to boot.

This is what gets you far right extremists into trouble. Instead of supporting intelligent people who have a variety of views, depending on the issue, you are too quick to hitch your wagons to bomb throwers, many of whom are either silly in the head or just outright dumb. Why not Kay Bailey Hutchinson? Why Michele Bachmann? Why Sarah P@lin? Unfortunate.

And please stop trying to tie me into what Bachmann said as that is the impression you are trying to leave.

You are constantly attacking the only conservative TV news organization there is. I grew up in an era where all we had was the 3 major news networks and then the advent of the 24 hour news channels. I remember when I was in college that before there was CNN it was called the Satellite News Channel or SNC which later broke up and became CNN. None of them gave a a conservative POV. It has always been slanted to the left. So why aren't we as conservatives entitled to news from like minded people? When you bring up Fox news because you don't like what is said there why is it not reasonable to counter with MSNBC because they have the same approach to left wing reporting that Fox News has for right wing reporting.

And conservative women especially seem to draw the ire of liberals. Nancy Pelosi is as fair game if she is going to say and do stupid things as Bachmann is.

Fox News Rolls to 11th Year As Number One Cable News Channel

The year may not quite be over, but preliminary numbers show that Fox News Channel will finish the year as the number one cable news network for the 11th straight year.

Not only is Fox the number one cable news channel, it is also the number three ad-supported channel in all of cable TV in primetime, according to TVNewser. Fox has the top 11 cable news shows in total viewers and the top seven in the key A25-54 demographic.

The unabashedly liberal MSNBC finished a distant second again with “The Rachel Maddow Show” finishing twelfth in total viewers and eighth in the demo.

While both Fox and MSNBC managed to grow their audiences this year, one-time cable news kingpin CNN saw its primetime audience dip slightly, while suffering a double digit decline in the daytime.

CNN is hoping 2013 brings a reversal of fortune with a new president, Jeff Zucker, who apparently is already thinking about tinkering with the network’s morning and primetime lineup.

Despite the gains at MSNBC, the fact remains that Fox News is a ratings juggernaut and isn’t likely to be replaced as number one anytime soon.

I appreciate your kind words, however, did you read BC's posts? Go back and re-read this thread, look at the number of times he makes bold declarations stated as facts that are in truth merely opinions, notice how he takes cheap shots that are totally unwarranted as no one has antagonized him personally. I've made it a point to stay above the fold and not do any name calling. I agree that BC is a great orator, but talking a good game doesn't make one right and when you start picking apart the facts from the flourish a lot of what he says falls apart. I don't have any sour grapes, I would just appreciate the same consideration I've shown him. Same goes for everyone else. I rarely attack first, it's not my nature, but when I see something blatantly out of bounds I have a tendency to want to call it out. I would characterize most of the arguments I've gotten into with political opponents on these forums as defensive on my part.
