Lost

This time loop shit is driving me nuts!

It looks like every week they are giving a different story from different points of view of the recent time travel excursions.

It looks like every week they are giving a different story from different points of view of the recent time travel excursions.

now they are down to just two different timelines though, 2008 and 1977 but it will boil down to one timeline soon

I finally saw this week's episode. I don't really like it. Young Ben is going to grow up and betray the Dharma Initiative. Sawyer must not know that yet. Sawyer may be comfortable in life as a Dharma Init member, but none of the other Losties will want that life. If Sawyer likes playing Dictator..so much for that warm little Island Reunion scene we saw. It will take about 1 episode before Jack escapes Dharma, he'll probably get Kate to go with him once she realizes Sawyer is banging Juliette and he doesn't really love her.

I've heard there's a major character death coming up. It seems pretty obvious who it's going to be after this episode...

I called that Ethan reference about 3 weeks ago....

Sawyer knows it, I think it was Hurely that brought it up.

who do you think is going to die? It didn't seem all that obvious to me. The only one that it is kind of leaning towards is Sayid. I hope not, that would be really shitty.

not really a shocking ending, but I loved it anyway.

It was kind of interesting/weird to see them jump back into the single character flashbacks. haven't seen those in a while- even though some of them we re-caps true.

Not much else to say. The other characters were pretty much just filler. I don't know if I like sawyer giving a shit about something, and I know I don't like it that that something is Dharma, which I honestly don't care about at all. The only thing they are good for is to die in the purge, as far as I'm concerned. The obligatory love-triangle was what it is, but the implied catiness between Kate and Juliet seemed forced. Jack was totally pointless just standing around and Hurley is supposed to be the voice of the audience, not the voice of the producers giving the actors their cues. Hey, it's been awhile since we've seen Jin, oh great here he is! bleh

I'm a huge LOST fan so I was excited to see a thread on the boards regarding the show. Yesterday's episode was not one of the best episodes but it did bring up an interesting dynamic between Sayid and Ben. I'm just wondering if future Ben knew that Sayid was going to shoot young Ben so he "used" Sayid as his mercenary for some kind of revenge? Or did future Ben nurture Sayid's inner killer mentality so that he would make sure Sayid hated Ben enough to be able to go through with shooting young Ben?

I <3 Ben's character!

Great to see an OCSM that loves Lost!

Interesting ideas, I can't imagine that Ben would want Sayid to kill him, since self-preservation seems to be his goal above all else. But that's a pretty original concept.

I hope that we are going to find out more about thier relationship because there are still a few unresolved questions. Who were those people that Sayid killed, did they really work for Charles Widmore? I suppose it doesn't matter, it only matters that they were people that Ben wanted eliminated for his own plans. But we still don't really know if Widmore is the bad guy, or if he really should be the one on the Island, and not Ben. Did Ben kill Nadia or simply blame Widmore for it when he wasn't responsible either?

Why the sudden change in Sayid's character? Is it just because he saw the truth in what Ben said about him? I don't see how he has any evidence, above his own feelings to suspect that he was manipulated.

I talked a little bit about the relationship to past-present memories:
It would seem that "not being able to change the past" means not being able to change the memories of the people in the present/future. Since Danielle didn't remember Jin, I guess Ben won't remember Sayid or any of the others- despite the fact that there apparently is a photograph of all of them from 1977 hanging up on the wall

Daniel Farraday said that you can't change the past, and I guess we are supposed to believe him, but he thinks that for whatever reason Desmond can, and that because of their relationship, he can as well. I think that is going to be significant in upcoming episodes when we find out (as we have yet to) what Desmond is doing and what Daniel has been up to for the last 3 years on the island.

This show is getting crazier and crazier with every episode, but that's right down my alley. And apart from looking forward to the developments and turns and twists each week I'm really looking forward to seeing Juliette (Elizabeth Mitchell) each time, she's pushing all the right buttons with me.

hmm, sayid kills 12 year old ben.
but i don't think he died.

a good theory about ethan and his mother:
his mother is an other, she knew sayid was not so she persuaded the darma to execute him. this is why ethan is an other also.

heres some good theorys, especially the future bens memory part.

eh, I don't buy it about Amy being a hostile. It's just more likely that the hostiles/others took the Dharma kids the same way that they later did with the 815 survivor kids. They don't really want to kill people, they just want to ensure that no one leaves the island or makes it's location known to the world, so the best way is to just recruit them into their group if possible, which is easiest to do with kids.

Besides Ethan, Charlotte and possibly Myles were children of Dharma members, and they obviously survived the purge and got off the Island somehow.

very possible, i'm still confused about Miles relation to the island.
i still think shes an other........sneaky sort of gal.

are you talking to me?
that was a good episode (although 9th was the best so far)

hey do you guys know if Lost is a new episode tonight?

This week was pretty good showing Kate's story with the baby.

Kate was lookin hot as fuck in that outfit with the black heels. I was about to pump one out watching that episode.

It looks like next week is going to be good showing Ben's version. It also looks like they will be explaining the smoke monster finally.

^^Yeah, I agree. I wanted to just unzip and let it rip once I saw Kate this week. Holy shit how could that little idiot Dominic Monahan (Charlie) be tappin' that in real life???

I don't really like this version of Sawyer--the Dictator. He is able to con every Dharma member, as Ben's dad said, because it seems "'LaFleur' only asks questions he knows the answers to.." That pretty much confirms Sawyer likes being *in charge* of things. It just seems like he was a more effective loner...I don't buy this thuggish leadership thing he has going on right now.

Has there ever been a more annoying douchebag on Lost than Horace? That guy bugs the shit out of me whenever I see him.

I thought the scene in the Kitchen between Jack and Kate, when Kate was trying to get Jack to operate on Little Ben was one of the single greatest scenes in Lost History. Man that was intense...Jack had some pretty huge haymaker lines....
"But you didn't like that version of me, Kate..." Whoa!

that episode was utter shit.

Yes, we'll save Ben, but it will conveniently cause him to lose his memory thus avoiding the continuity errors caused by time traveling.

Sawyer's big secret that he had to whisper to Kate and we had to wait ten episodes to find out was for her to check up on his daughter. wow. what a shocking revelation! who could have seen that coming!?

Oh yes, and let's not forget giving Aaron to his grandmother = "I'm not going to tell you what happened, Jack, and you can never ask me that question again." wtf?

:ban:

I don't even want to know what the smoke monster is, it's just going to be totally lame. How could it not be? This show was so much better when you didn't know what was going on. Spend 5 season building shit up, only to give the most obvious answer in five minutes.

i kinda agree cal,
wouldnt say utter shit but yes kinda lame.
the whole kate explanation was very shallow.
i guess she couldnt bear the fact that one day someone would find out, or the guilt.
if it was the guilt it would explain why she wants to go back to get claire.

ben losing his memory?
how do we know that?

its like for example hurley in 2007 does not remember being on the island on 77. so 2007 ben wont remember being shot.
it happened on 2 different time lines, 2 different realitys.

uh, i think.

Alpert tells Sawyer and Kate that Ben won't remember what happened.

oh yeah.
buttttttt, which ben?
77 ben or 07 ben?
07 ben didnt defect to the others until he was in his 20's.
now it seems 77 ben will be an other at 12.
this seems like the conversation hurley and miles were having.

its like are there now 2 different realitys or at the moment the island stopped in 77 the whole single future has changed?
if the latter than the nobody would have got on that plane because they ................forget it.
i believe the seperate time line theory, neither is connected.
