Life's Little Hypocrisy's

This is something I have been meaning to post for a while. I have since forgotten the other stuff I wanted to post along these lines, but, there are a lot of things one can say about contradictions one sees in life.

For instance. Let's take Britney Spears. Or even Ashley Tisdale.

Here's just a link to info about this singer/actress to skim over:

http://www.ashleymtisdale.com/

I was thinking again on these things when I saw some photo's recently of her.

Some celebs can be all innocent, right? Then, they lose their little girl phase to dress sexily or whatever.

Fair enough. They want to look 'dark' and 'edgy' and 'sexy'.

Funny though, to me is when magazines, opinions of people are in support of such a move.

I mean, magazines will cut a celeb to shreds for being innocent and naive, then write stuff admiring them when they show leg or get down and dirty.

When someone dances half naked for a video, or drinks too much or some such thing, the magazines will slate them as sluts and drunks and what not.

So, if they stay pure, they lose. If they go out and party, they also lose.

Maybe a better example would be Jenna Jameson. Everyone knows porn is bad, right? So they say. Evul. And yet, when she won the debate at Oxford and when she made her own clothing line, she was suddenly a celeb.

People will publicly denounce porn, but support this actress or that actress.

In years past, a lot of people were racist, but everyone admired Nat King Cole or Sammy Davis Jr.

I am not making my point very well, so I hope you can get the gist of what it is I am trying to say here.

It isn't really important to make a cut and dried case, or expect people to be machines, but I hope this can open a discussion.

(Not a can of anything nasty, if you will).

If anyone can think of their own examples, as well, that would be great too.

Thanks. :hatsoff: :) :glugglug:

It's interesting how some people strive for wealth and fame but create their own hells and prisons when they get it.

Yes and no. Davis was widely accepted because he was so self-effacing, and such a good sport (superficially at least) about the rat pack's racial humor.
However, once he decided to marry a white woman his popularity took a huge hit. He received hate mail and death threats and was targeted by white supremacist groups. I also seem to recall that John F Kennedy's father Joseph strongly urged Frank Sinatra not to attend Sammy's wedding because doing so would cause a big public relations problem for JFK through his association with Sinatra. Sinatra refused to cave in and wound up being Sammy's best man.

True. people are human. As one ages and is exposed to different experiences, perceptions and behaviors often change.
I remember Bob Hope introducing a young, shy,Brittany Spears at a Rockefeller Center Christmas show. Case in point.

Thanks Jane.

People are human indeed. They can believe a certain way, then decide differently when faced with options. I guess I was just watching over the years how magazines influence and assume stuff.

These rags like "National Enquirer," "Globe" are a joke. I just look at the covers in the supermarket check out line.

I was thinking of the mainstream of public thought. You can't always assume to know what another person is thinking precisely though. You could be amazed.

People do change. Opinions change. Even as I put down those words in post #1 this all became clear.

Well, if anyone can think of something where people say one thing, then endorse another, then let's hear it. Or something in society, life.

Maybe gripe a bit - or you can leave that till Monday evening!

what the fuck you lookin at?

Yea its like that thing with Obama and the tobacco thing. While he himself is a smoker

Wainkerr--you are missing the broad point about Celeb mags. They will publish whatever they think will sell. Period. Celeb rag publishers know exactly how to manipulate the Wal*Mart woman shopper--who is their target audience. They "build up the celeb" first through sex and naughtiness and then tear down the celeb when they do something foolish like get drunk, let a boob slip, whatever. The celeb rag shopper lives vicariously through all of this--the Ups of the naughtiness and the lows of the "sluttiness."

What I don't understand is that Men are the Celebrity Obsession Gatekeepers. It isn't woman who create the celebrity obsession. It is men.

When will women wake up?

Pretty much hypocrisy appears to be a euphemism for humanity nowadays....

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Sort of like, I think 2 girls kissing, is just plain beautiful, but 2 guys kissing is just icky. Now I don't have a problem with people that are gay, that's who they are, but I would rather not see to guys kiss.

Thanks. That does seem a trend now you mention it. :hatsoff:

Ya. I have heard Lesbian women complain about how they don't like how men always think of sex. Thing is, they are more eager to be together with a woman precisely because of the sex, from what I have picked up.

So there they go have oodles of sex, but with a woman.

I have seen Lesbian porn. They do care more. The porn I have seen with a woman and man or men is usually just stick it in and bang, as hard and fast as you can.

I would hate to make love to a woman like that. Imagine that is all your love life is every day or night? But this is what the porn viewer wants or they wouldn't be making it.

You're a chick who wants to make money renting your body for sex but the government exercising it's made up jurisdiction over your body says you may not.

So the next time you're in action and a bunch of highly trained Vice Squad officers kick in the door of your hotel room, brandishing firearms and shouting orders....yell "cut", point to your filming permit and camcorder (or cell phone camera to be even funnier) then tell them to get the fuck off of your set.:thefinger

people who are against homosexuality but like to watch 2 hot chicks make out

^False comparison. There is a large difference between the fantasy and reality of serial killing. Homosexuality is not a fantasy.

Neither is Serial Killing...
Having fantasies about either is the same, doing the act is a bit different...I have no problems with anyone who has the same taste as me...pussy, great titties, sweet ass...I do find males unappealing sexually so I dislike gay male activities; not so g/g as a rule.
So...I can easily watch g/g and smile; m/m gives me a gag reflex and stomach nausea.
My killing fantasies don't involve large groups of people, so I can't speak to SK fantasies...

The reality of serial killing involves committing crimes. Therefore, for some, it exists *safely* in movies.

Homosexuality exists. It's not a crime to engage in it. For some (in the closet), it exists *safely* in movies.

I don't really see hypocrisy in liking one form of homosexuality--F/F over another --M/M. The hypocrisy would come if a group of people want to criminalize one form over another.

That is because people are a bunch of hypocrites, what I love are those that scream and yell that porn in evil and etc. But if you look into their bedrooms they are some of the kinkiest, dirtiest people on earth. Its that Puritan attitude that is riddled throughout this country. People cannot get a grip, and if you want to really shut those these religious, righteous people up. Here is a simple answer to one of these morons:

"So they say nudity is wrong, porn is wrong, sex is wrong and etc etc etc. Well if you are saying that then you are saying that something God created is wrong ...so what is worse nudity, sex or being a hypocrite?"
