Kansas governor signs bill banning Islamic law

You gotta love Kansas. Between their views on creation, being home to the Westboro Baptist Moonbats and now preemptively cock blocking Sharia Law. By contrast they make the rest of the U.S. seem just a little more sane. Well done, Jayhawks.

KANSAS CITY, Kansas (Reuters) - Republican Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed a bill aimed at keeping state courts and agencies from using Islamic or other non-U.S. laws when making decisions, his office said on Friday, drawing criticism from a national Muslim group.

Then again, if you've pissed off CAIR, you must be doing something right.

Assume for a moment that a court in the United States attempted to use something other than State or Federal law. Whatever ruling was made would be struck down and that judge impeached and removed from the bench. It's like passing legislation codifying the laws of thermodynamics.

Some have tried. Not just Sharia but laws from other nations too.

What, PK? You'd like living under the oppression of Shar'ia law?

Dirl, I think the hamsters have escaped their cage and are running around inside your head again.

Well it's nice they made something illegal that was already illegal.

Due to the Equal Protection Clause this also means they have to make every other religion's laws illegal to use, which they already are, but that passes over all the religious "Christian" nutcases' heads out there.

The best part is that taxpayers pay him to do this. I know it is completely symbolic, but seriously?

I hear Sharia Law is around where I work in Michigan. stilll looking for it!

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Brownback is a SERIOUS bible thumping Christian right winger. Porn is evil, gays are evil....everything but constant prayer and worship is evil. I will say this though, I have no doubts that some lawyer would argue the rights of a muslim man, to beat his wife, under the guise of religious freedom. His reasons for doing it are fucked up, I won't argue that, but you never know who's going to try, just to be an attention whore.

This is a good thing.

So, to be clear, you think it is a good thing that the government is mandating this, but you think the government should not get involved with seat belt laws?

Your ability to think critically is entirely in question. You like this law, therefore, the government should do it. You don't like seat belt laws, therefore the government shouldn't do it. And what on earth would happen if the United States of America's government made some law that banned some type of Christian law? You would be absolutely outraged.

So, what has been shown in this seemingly innocuous post is Will E. Worm's complete lack of ability to see beyond his own preferences, and to think critically. You think very much the same way a four year old does - if you like something, it's clearly "right." If you don't like something, it's clearly "wrong." What you are in fact expressing has absolutely nothing to do with correct or incorrect, it has to do only with your own, short-sighted, vision of how the world should be. This makes arguing with you completely pointless, as you are basing nothing you say on fact, but simply on opinion. It's incredibly easy to feel smug when you do that, isn't it? I should tell you, however, it does make you come off as a little stupid.

I'm just letting you know. I hope you found this comment constructive, though I know you didn't. You don't like it, so clearly it is "wrong."

"You are wrong".

Though I would save Will the terror of having to cut and paste that response.

Conspiracy...
Islamic law is not American law. So, it should be banned.
If you want your laws stay in your own country.

Seat belt laws is another thread.
