Pacquiao-Bradley: Tecate Rebate, TopRank.TV On Board

Tuesday’s press conference in Los Angeles to formally announce the June 9 pay-per-view event between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley came with economy-friendly news.

As has been the case with the past few Pacquiao-headlined shows, Tecate – the event’s leading sponsor – will be offering a rebate with the purchase of their product (12-pack, 18-pack or 24-pack) and the pay-per-view event itself.

“Further details will be announced, but it’s a terrific deal,” noted Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum, whose Top Rank Inc. company presents the event with HBO PPV live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. “You buy a case of Tecate and watch the fight with your friends, and you get a major portion of the PPV back when you send in the rebate coupon.”

HBO PPV lands Manny Pacquiao fight

HBO made it 2-for-2 in securing the rights to the first two major pay-per-view fights of the year on Tuesday, announcing that it had finalized an agreement with Top Rank to produce and distribute welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao's defense against Timothy Bradley Jr. on June 9 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The announcement coincided with the day that Pacquiao and Bradley kicked off a two-city media tour in Los Angeles to promote the fight.

"Manny Pacquiao's fights are always special events and we are very excited that his June 9 fight with Timothy Bradley will be presented by HBO Pay-Per-View," HBO Sports president Ken Hershman said in a statement to ESPN.com. "We look forward to working with Manny, Timothy and Top Rank on this major PPV event."

Pacquiao: Bradley, two more fights, then, retirement

WBO junior welterweight titleholder, Manny Pacquiao, wants to "do two or three more fights" and then retire, he told reporters during Thursday's New York press conference touting the HBO Pay Per View televised defense of his belt against WBO junior welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley, that is slated for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on June 9.

"I still like boxing. I still love boxing. I'm still hungry in boxing. I still want to fight. I may do two or three more good fights. My kid, the youngest son who is 11, Emmanuel Jr., says he wants me to retire," said Pacquaio, a 33-year-old congressman in his native Philippines.

Also, there will be a three part 24/7 series starting May 26

Miguel Vazquez Expects Pacquiao vs Bradley PPV Slot

IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (30-3, 13KOs) expects to land a slot on the June 9th undercard to the big HBO pay-per-view, featuring a welterweight main event between WBO champion Manny Pacquiao and unbeaten Timothy Bradley. The card takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Vazquez retained his title fourth times since winning the belt in 2010, and that includes a dominating win over mandatory challenger Ameth Diaz in January of this year.

WBO bantamweight champion Jorge Arce also expects to land a slot on the pay-per-view, and a welterweight clash between Mike Jones and Randall Bailey is another contest being considered for the card.

Pacquiao starts training camp April 16, so its about seven weeks split between the Philippines and the Wild Card Gym in LA.

Ariza has concerns with Manny Pacquiao's conditioning

MANNY Pacquiao’s physical conditioning in preparation for his World Boxing Organization welterweight title defense against undefeated light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on June 9, is causing some concern for strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza.

Unhappy over the distractions and personal problems that affected Pacquiao’s focus and preparation for his third fight against Juan Manuel Marquez, Ariza was hoping that Pacquiao would take his physical conditioning program seriously in the buildup to the Bradley showdown, knowing that the undefeated 140-pound champion is always in fine physical shape.

Ariza, who wanted Pacquiao to return to the demanding training regimen that put him in great shape for the fights against Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto, told the BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard he is “a bit concerned” about the preparation for the fight, considering that the champ announced he will begin training camp in Baguio City on April 16.

“We can’t have a bad camp. His physical conditioning is very important. This must happen all the way,” said Ariza.

BoxingScene/Manila Standard learned that Pacquiao has been jogging regularly, while in his home province of Sarangani, which he represents in Congress. His trainer Freddie Roach, who leaves for Baguio next Sunday, isn’t bothered that Pacquiao moved his original start of training from April 14 to 16.

Pacquiao will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night. Pacquiao has made an appearance on Kimmel leading up to every fight since Miguel Cotto

This fight hasnt even happened and theres already a rematch set for November 10!

Bradley Eyes November 10 Rematch

MANILA, Philippines --- Manny Pacquiao is assured of a rematch clause in the unfortunate event that he gets upset by Tim Bradley on June 9 in Las Vegas, Top Rank big boss Bob Arum told the Bulletin.

Arum has penciled Nov. 10 as the date for that fight, a sign that Pacquiao is not looking past the unbeaten American fighter.

“This is the reason why I haven’t talked about any other fight with Manny other than this upcoming fight with Bradley,” said Arum.
