It could have something to do with problems going on in the middle east and the long string of muslim terrorism suspects with ties to the D.C. area.
I've seen plenty of plenty of problems between Jewish and Muslim students and activists in D.C.
The Muslims are entitled to do the same, though you won't find many Jews or Israelis working in hotels.

They've been racist and intolerant long before the Nazis killed 6 million+ Jews. Take a look at the Tanakh and the Talmud for what is done and said about non-Jews.
With that said, they have real security concerns to worry about. I guess they could be like dumbass Europeans who let their desire to be "p.c." trump their own right to live and be safe. But then again, Europeans are going to become an oppressed minority (if they're lucky) in their own lands due to allowing massive amounts of immigration. Who would want to follow their lead?

can we admit that if it even happened at all that it may have been for security purposes or it also may have been simply because jews dont like arabs?
both are possible and theres no way to know fer sure.
i do think its more likely the latter because if they are important israelis i'm sure they have their own security with them at the hotel to check anyone who comes near them.

Yes they do when they are in another country. This would be justifiable if they had reason to believe a Muslim hotel worker was going to attempt to murder them, but they didn't. The Israelis have no right to base decisions on someone's appearance, just the same as I can't run a convinience store with a sign that says "No ******s allowed" in the window.
A lot of different groups of people around the world have experienced hardships around the world, not just the Jews and it is completely assinine to say "never again" as if the crimes agains the Jews was the worst thing in history and if they qualify as justification for anything Israel wishes to do.
Twelve million Ukranians died during the Holodomor, but do they discriminate use it as justification for whatever they want? No.
Millions of Africans, Native Americans and Muslims suffered at the hand of the Europeans/Americans during the slave trade and colonization of Africa & North America. Do they use it to justify whatever they want? No.
Apparently Israel thinks it is special though.

I got the feeling from the initial article that Ehud Barak just didn't want sit face to face with any muslims rather than him being scared of being attacked by them. America will provide the best security for them anyway, that I'm sure of. Barak should probably steer clear of any peace negotiations with the Palestinians if he doesn't like sitting face to face with muslims, best leave that role to the moderate, compromising and humble Netanyahu

It doesn't matter who they are, they are still susceptible to bullets and bombs like the rest of us. If you've been paying attention to the news you would see that the D.C. metro area (relative to the U.S.) is a hotbed for Islamic extremists.
If you're so concerned tell the Israelis that. They'll politely tell you it's none of your concern.
Blame the JOOZ's adversaries throughout history for making them overly cautious.

A friend of mine married a girl a couple of years after we got out of college, and she was half Palestinian on her father's side (so her maiden name gave her away). She had a teaching job at a private school that had a number of Jewish children as students. Some of those parents banded together and went to the school's administration, threatening to pull their kids from the school if they didn't get rid of her. She was still fairly new and her contract was not renewed the following year. It was easier just to get rid of her than deal with these self righteous bigots. So a girl who was one of the nicest people I've ever met, who had a master's degree in education and who was married to a dyed in the wool Reagan Republican... lost her job because some of the "chosen people" didn't want their babies to be around a "dirty A-rab". If that situation had been reversed, we'd still be hearing about it. Hell, Congress would have probably gone into a special session to make sure the school got no federal funding or grants. Also, years ago I wanted to look at some condos that were going cheap. The agent I was working with was Jewish. She refused to show me this one condo because the people who owned it were Arabs. When I reported her to the Board of Realtors for an ethics violation, she lied and claimed that she would have shown it to me, but she was unable to make an appointment to get in. Just anecdotals, but it has shown me that bullshit and bigotry are all around.
In other words... color me totally unsurprised. Israelis and Jews are no more (and no less) immune from being racists and bigots than any other group. It's the holier than thou hypocrisy and constant whining that I get sick of.

Ah yes, the "go tell them that" line. Always the last resort of anyone in an argument. It's pointless to try and tell the Israelis anything, not even the States can reel them in anymore. Can't wait until that country is taken down a notch or destroyed or something. But whatever. :dunno:
