is south park still funny?

I felt it became too gratuitous in the violence there for a while. Now it has lightened up on it and went back to the satirical/sardonic nature it carries so well. I always look forward to new seasons only because political/societal groups is always doing stupid things. As long as humanity is stupid in their actions there should always be a South Park.
If I were to choose between older, simpler South Park and newer, more satirical South Park then I would choose the former. But only just. They are a bit more hit-and-miss these days (More Crap was the worst episode ever, WTF was terrible, and The F Word was quite crap too) but when they get it right they are producing some of the best TV around - Fishsticks is one of the best episodes of any TV show that I've ever seen, and Dead Celebrities and You Have 0 Friends are awesome too.
Not quite as funny as it used to be, but I still like it.
Make Love Not Warcraft is the best episode.
I think seasons 4-10 or so have the best/funniest episodes. The earlier seasons were lame, cheap humor. I happen to like the puns on current events. It seemed like the show matured more.
Although I have noticed that more and more episodes aren't as funny as others, where as before, it seemed they were all fairly decent.

South Park like many golden TV shows out there are hit and miss.
