I never thought South Park was funny.

Never had the Parker/Stone Kool-Aid!

Oh yeah, Spaceballs sucked too!

As long as I'm on about overrated crap!

South Park's lifeline is political/social issues that are big in the news. They should go back to episodes focusing on the kids without any overt political message. Scott Tennerman must die is one of the best episodes, and it was just about life in South Park.

Now that I'm older, I enjoy the new tone. I liked the show as it was back then, but if they went back to that I'd probably stop watching it.

^^^ Im with him, the later more politically minded shows are much more enjoyable than the earlier shows.

Season 6 onwards is where the show really hit its stride IMO.

I've always liked South Park. Some episodes are obviously funnier than others, but I think it's a good show overall. It's not just pointless, random crap like Family Guy or The Simpsons that doesn't have any real point to it (not to say that I don't enjoy those two shows, because I do). South Park, on the other hand, usually makes some sort of point with each episode, whether it be political, a stab at Hollywood, etc. That's why I think it's the funniest cartoon ever.

Have you seen the most recent one about Indian Jones?...

Yes, it is definitely still funny.

The scene with Randy sitting on the toilet, while underneath the writing says "Emmy award winning series" was just priceless. :1orglaugh I watch everyday, except Sundays when it isn't on for some bizarre reason.

Simpsons is still good, but not as good as it used to be. Seasons 5 to 15 were my favorites.

Family Guy is funny, but in a different way. Like Eric says, it's just joke after joke, with unrelated flashbacks. Still good though. :wave2:

I still think it's ok. With all the big animated shows I think there comes a time after they have been on for years when everybody starts overanalyzing them for some reason instead of just seeing them for what they are and enjoying them. They are supposed to be good for some cheap laughs, and for the most part they still do that.

family guy is stupid funny

I think Family Guy is about as funny as getting hit in the head repeatedly with a wrench: Funny when you are on LSD, but not funny otherwise.

Right now Family Guy is playing on my TV, and it's the episode where Stewie beats the shit out of Brian cause he doesn't have his money. I'm sitting here, and for two minutes I'm watching Stewie hit Brian with the towel rack, and I'm thinking, "Is this funny?". Five minutes later, Stewie beats Brian up again. What is the fuckin point? This is not funny at all to me. There are a lot of jokes in Family Guy that use repeatedness, but the majority of them aren't funny. The joke from The Simpsons where Sideshow Bob steps on the rakes is funny. The joke from Family Guy where Peter hurts his knee is funny (The first few times you see it). Seeing Stewie beat up Brian while repeating "Where is my money?" is not funny. South Park has gotten criticized for seemingly using violence to hide poor writing (I red it on IGN for the Canada on Strike episode where all the internet fans kill each other), so what makes it so funny on Family Guy?

I don't hate Family Guy completely. The early episodes are gold, but after the movie came out its just been downhill completely. What, did all the hype go to their heads after that? "Oh, we have a DVD movie, we are the best!" Yeah, well, Futurama has four dvd movies, and The Simpsons had a feature film. It's not that impressive. There have been a few great episodes since then, like the Blue Harvest episode, but most of it has been crap. South Park got it completely right in Cartoon Wars. It's a dumb, idiotic show, but it makes its fans laugh, I suppose. I just wish they would go back to the better stuff instead of watching a gay baby beat up a dog for twenty minutes. :dunno:

I haven't watched South Park in years and don't really plan on watching it either. The first few seasons were just goofy things that the kids were dealing with, but now from what I hear of the show, everything is about what Trey Parker and Matt Stone can exploit and try to make funny. They rely solely on trying to piss off as many people as possible, and I just don't find any humor in that, and that's also why Family Guy sucks ass now too.

The first two seasons of FG were absolutely priceless, but it seems that ever since they returned from their exile of cancellation,Seth McFarlane has been trying to compete with South Park's popularity.Every joke either revolves around trying to be as offensive as possible on network TV without being kicked off or just the most random things that they try to make funny that are long and drawn out(like the fight between Peter and the giant chicken. To this day,I still don't know why that was supposed to be funny).

I haven't laughed at The Simpsons since the episode where they went on the Japanese game show.I don't know how the fuck King Of The Hill has been on this long,American Dad is actually better than it's predecessor, and the fuck heads at Fox should have never took off the funniest one they had in Futurama. But that's just my :2 cents:.

how could you prefer seasons 5-15 to seasons 1-5 of the simpsons? the first 5 seasons were by far the best

I used to enjoy simpsons a lot, but at some point it struck me how boring it is. the humor is so dry and dull.
south park is something like that too. at first, everything about it was hilarious. but then it became repetitive and now it's just same old same old -- and even more goody goody below the surface still. some episodes are hilarious though, but the earlier seasons were more about the humor and less about messages.

family guy however, is almost consistently fun. i don't watch cartoons to get smart-ass society critics or even any form of plot, just the gags. and family guy is fucking funny, be it stupid or not.

South Park is kinda funny, sometimes.

Now, I truly hate King of the Hill. Seriously. I. Just. Don't. Get. It.

I DESPISE that episode. With a passion.

Not like it used to be. (Then again I was still in high school when I started watching)

I think they've pushed every envelope there is to push and it's now got a bit stale. Still watch it every week though.

Way too many suicides in it these days though.

And here's something funny, lately my favourite character isn't one of the main four, but rather Randy Marsh.
