I do not agree with that. It is important what kind of a choice people make. In one situation you can make a wrong choice, and lost everything, from respect up to your life. But if you make different choice you will win.
This is how I see things. Because if choice itself is a reason for respect, it will just make things absurd. Any stupidity, murder, mistake, caraccident etc is a result of some choice. And it has no link with respect at all.
All our life is full of choices, and there are good ones and wrong ones (also there are some situations when it is hard to say which is worse). But to be a gay is a wrong one. And wrong choice can't be respected.
