Hispanics leaving Arizona

They actually know this law will be enforced unlike the federal law, so I bet they are hightailing it out of that state. Funny what criminals will do once they realize a 0 tolerance law will start to be enforced. Other states can take note and start enacting a similar law and we can finally clean up the illegal immigrant mess.

That's funny...the title of the article says:

"Arizona Data Unclear Whether Arizona Law Driving Illegal Immigrants Out of State"

But but...weren't illegals leaving the country since the recession anyway???...

Fox is never to be outdone in their shilling for GOPers.

whatever search engine I used listed articles from about 40 different sources.

In addition to the fact that this article was the most comprehensive and the only one longer than about 2 or 3 paragraphs, I purposely chose the one from Fox just for you Hot Mega, I wanted to make sure you'd come on here and spew your utterly predictable rant on their bias.

An estimated 100,000 illegal immigrants have left Arizona in the past two years as it cracked down on illegal immigration and its economy was especially hard hit by the Great Recession.
Though no one has precise figures, reports from school officials, businesses and individuals indicate worried Hispanics — both legal and illegal — are leaving the state in anticipation of the law, which will go into effect July 29.
We will know more once the law goes into full effect and the numbers come in fully. So far if people are leaving they are leaving. Most likely they are illegals, or bleeding sympathizers for illegals, but let them go plague another state... like California.

It seems to stand to reason since illegals have been leaving the country anyway this law may hasten their exodus from AZ.

And, if I may ask of you, is that a good thing or a bad thing? I really am curious what your take on that would be.

My take would be that's a good thing.

Illegals = unwelcome :ban:
Legal = welcome :glugglug:

the only people who would have reason to leave are illegal ones.
i think the numbers here are to small to make any judgment.

useless article imo

My position has never been in support of the wanton raiding of our borders. I believe those who have come here illegally should be sent back whenever possible and discouraged by our laws from coming here illegally in the first place.

In ALL of my posts on these issues my only point has been the preservation of the rights of Americans and those who enjoy the presumption of being here legally...

To some of you it's okay...but I think it's unconscionable for one American to be held or otherwise detained who is responding reasonably to someone's subjective eye.

As difficult as it is to recover lost or stolen documents like SSN cards and birth certificates...it is unreasonable IMO to expect people to carry those on their person for fear of being dropped in a detention center for hours just because someone thinks they look like they're here illegally.

People here illegally should be detained and deported, our borders should be strictly guarded (for a number of reasons) and the immigration policies of our country ought to be respected. But in all of that, not one innocent American ought to be swept up in the effort to maintain those immigration objectives.

No reasonable person questions whether draconian, right-infringing laws can be effective. Just think how effectively we could prohibit illicit drugs and other contraband if we did away with the right against our property being search without a warrant for example. But infringing on the privacy of the innocent individual is too heavy a price to pay just to enforce contraband laws in my eyes.

They're going to California. Ahnould wants to hire them to build a statue in his likeness, right outside of the governor's mansion, at $1.50 an hour. Minus benefits.

This kind of law needs to be introduced in more states, otherwise illegals are just going to stop going to Arizona and start heading to California.

All Illegals should leave, Canadian, Mexican, Gutamalan, etc, etc. get into this country the correct way like most of our forefathers did.

Mayor Gordon said the law is bad, and comprehensive immigration reform must be had so that "the resorts have people to clean rooms, serve at restaurants, work manual jobs..."(sic) today. Broomhead will post the audio, it has been playing repeatedly today. http://www.kfyi.com/pages/broomhead.html

Some of you know I've been living in South America for the most part for the past few years.
Here the police seem to not do shit when there is a crime.
no investigation tactics at all.
They seem lazy.
They also don't stop people on the roads when theyre driving like assholes or have a little kid standing up in the front seat, which i see everyday.
complete opposite from the states where cops stop and ticket people for anything.

They do however have random car stops all over the city to check for ID and registration.
They also can and do stop anybody at anytime and ask for ID.
Its only happened to me once, while on foot.
And I didn't have ID.
And I still don't carry ID.
I'm against the law.

So in Arizona now you must carry ID while on foot also?

No..you must carry proof of citizenship...(birth certificate, ssn card, etc.) at the threat of being searched and detained for possibly hours. A license is just a form of ID which law enforcement routinely accepts as defacto citizenship.

Can't you all get branded like cows do? I'd have no problem with that.

No I don't like the idea of being forced by law to carry a document proving who I am.
Most people do it and thats normal.
I just dont like being told that I must.

But, on the other hand, given the situation in Arizona, mass illegal immigration, I can see the reasoning.
