The ones I've met were very poor, but work hard be it coal mining, farming what grew on that land and had a sense of self-pride. One guy that was in my squad was from the Ozarks. He was a nice guy, just quiet. He shock a lot of us one day when we found out he could sing. We were cleaning up and he started singing The Platters Great Pretender. As far as brother/sister relationships, that rarely happens, now cousins...

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
I believe they prefer to be called Rural Americans...

Be careful, Assari. there are FO members who think being called a hillbilly/redneck is on the same level as being called the N-word. Prepare for the butthurt to ensue.

Don't confuse Rednecks with Hillbillies. I don't know the difference but they think the difference is worth killing over. You might be safer in the ghetto than certain parts of the holler.

Jaana, I trust your help if someone gets angry.

I do not think that these mountain people would be much more different than the urban people.

Maybe they do not trust strangers so their culture can be difficult to acces.

They're folksy.

Earthy people.

He was nice but reserved?
