There's plenty of chatter here about blacks stealing jobs via affirmative action and the illegal aliens beaming our jobs up, but I've never heard about teh gays doing it.

But aside from the tragedy of yet ANOTHER public shooting rampage (pawn store purchase a month ago!), it cracks me up what a stereotype come to life this dude is. A right-wing SUV driver/owner who blamed gays and liberals for his problems and went to the local Unitarian church with a shotgun in a guitar case to get his version of Charles Bronson justice.

I was also amused that the hero guy here - who apparently took a shot to save others - was described as a "refrigerator with a head" - :1orglaugh

Actually in many other countries, openly proclaimed gay or "closet" gays do very well in their career and professions.

It is sad as our economy continues to sink.

A company near by starts the 4-day work rule and shuts down Friday shift and moves the operation to the Main Plant to save money.

We will continue to see this kind of violence as long as companies just fire people and lay people off without a social network to protect workers' right.

I hope other companies will learn from this incident and not use brutal plant closing tactics to fire employees. It will result in more people to get killed.

GM will continue to cut back as well as Ford and Chryler and hope no one gets killed.

GM lays out plans for buyout and offers cash and car/truck vouchers for potential retirees and employees to be laid off in next 12-18 months. But so many companies just shut the plants down and not even pay workers any severance pay or even the last paycheck and leave town.




General Motors Corp. will cut production by another 117,000 vehicles, citing continued weakness in consumer demand for pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles.

GM spokesman Tony Sapienza said today the Detroit-based automaker will achieve the cuts by eliminating one shift each at its Moraine, Ohio, and Shreveport, La., plants.

Most of the cuts will affect production of trucks and sport utility vehicles.

The Moraine plant makes the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Ranier, Isuzu Ascender, Saab 9-7x midsize SUVs, while the Shreveport plant currently produces the GMC Canyon, Chevrolet Colorado and Hummer H3.

The cuts bring GM's total production cuts to just under the 300,000 units company officials had hoped to cut this year, Sapienza said.

GM also is looking at the possibility of idling production at other truck and SUV plants later this year to further align its offerings with consumer demand, he said.

GM's U.S. sales were down about 16 per cent for the first half of this year, largely as a result of a plunge in truck sales, and it's not the only automaker facing lower demand.

Japanese rival Toyota Motor Corp., which outsold GM by 277,532 vehicles worldwide in the first six months of this year, cut its global sales forecast earlier today by 350,000 vehicles to 9.5 million, blaming sluggish North American sales.

Toyota also is shifting production from SUVs and trucks to smaller models. It said earlier this month that it plans to shut down truck and SUV production at its U.S. plants for three months starting in August, and it will start building the Prius hybrid in the U.S. for the first time in 2010.

Personally I didn't know so-called "bleeding heart liberals" meant that at all.I thought it was just a term used by some to say they felt some people empathized to much with the poor and other what are known as oppressed groups.You know the idea they are just a bunch of overly soft people whose heart bleeds for those dummies who choose to be poor and born in ghettos or appalachia.The bleeding hearts I always though for sure were leftys but not aggressive ones,they love everybody.Haven't really seen any leftys lately start popping rounds off and taking out people they disagree with.But maybe I am un-informed?:dunno:
