Dallas, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, A Touch of Frost, Married with Children, In the Heat of the Night etc. and etc.

Airwolf

It was kinda like Knight Rider but instead of helping people while driving a talking car, it was helping people while flying a really cool helicopter. Oh and Ernest Borgnine.

I do know that but if you have watched any of these shows they are superb in my opinion and are much better than the stuff I would watch when I was young.

If you look on imdb.com these are among the very top rated on there, plus it's a poll by me and these happen to be my favourite shows. I am aware that other shows do exist which is why I put 'Other' as an option.

As a kid it was the A-Team, McGyver and Chips.
Later on Star Trek - The Next Generation, Battlestar Galactica and Space, Above and Beyond. And Married with Children.
The more recent are Game of Thrones and Dexter

The Twilight Zone, hands down, and 2nd place isn't even close.

I went with Breaking Bad in the poll. It's not my favorite of all time, but for the sake of the poll actually serving a purpose.....

I don't know if I can pick just one. There's so many that I love for different reasons from different genres. Seinfeld is the one that really sticks out.

I think both Marlo Manson and I will say that it's The Wire. But Breaking Bad is also right there. Yeah, there are several that were top shelf: The Twilight Zone, Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, Gunsmoke, etc.

I think some shows are overrated and receive "critical acclaim" just because of Hollyweird's fascination with them (*cough cough* Seinfeld and Mad Men).

I would also put Seinfeld up as clearly the second best show ever on TV. Number one is just so hard to pick.

Too short of a run but Monty Python's Flying Circus deserves votes to get into the top 5.

Folks, you've got to go back to the early days of television. What's My Line? is one of the most ingenious concepts for a game show ever. Make it simple,. Someone walks out and try to guess what he does for a living. Blindfold them with a mysetery guest. The comedy creates it's self. Toss in You Bet Your Life. 2 random people walk out and talk to Groucho Marx. No script needed. What is entertainment now? Throw 15 people into a mansion or island and watch then for 8 weeks. Not necessary or even interesting.
