Gears of War 3...........save it for the next xbox or.....???

Epic said theres gonna be only 3 gears.We all know that dont mean shit especially since the gears is a popular new ip this gen. However some gamers think that by the 3rd sequel,especially in the shooter genre,the games seem to lose their luster,therefore making it irrelevant to some whether gears 3 is the last or whatever.

That said,do you think it would be wise to save Gears3 for the next-box and hammer gears2 with DLC or get gears3 out this gen? My opinion is Sony is gonna start taking over real fast by the end of this year with their better exclusive ip's alone. I'd say keep it for next-box cause gears2 isnt really that old,next-box isnt 100 years away and Halo has already gotten to be old news for many.........

Well, technically Epic only said that there's going to be 3 Gears of War games in the current Fenix saga. Which sort of opens the door to other people and places to explore.

That said, it's probably going to be released for the 360, simply because Microsoft will push for it to happen.

Nah, release it on the 360. If it does bad, then save the next for the next-gen. There's not really anything they can't do on the 360 with it, anyway.

It's not like the FF games on the PS2, where they were really pushing the limits and had to compress sound and such just to get it all on the same disk.

Why not release it on the 360? It's not like there's a new XBOX coming out in a few years. By my account there won't be new systems for quite a while. Personally I hate it when they start a franchise on one system and decide to finish it on the next. (God of War anyone?) That means in order to complete a story I have buy a whole new console. Final Fantasy I can understand because none of those games really have anything to do with the previous game but games like God of War and Halo really don't have any excuse. I say finish it on the console that you started it on and come up with something else (side stories or new IPs) for the new console.

It better not be an RTS game. As RTS games suck donkey balls IMO. I can't stand them.

As for a Gears 3 on the 360, or leaving it to the next machine, or more sequels after the third one, ect.

I just don't care that much if more follow on or not. The thrill has sort of gone from the series for me. The second one is just the first one with improvements such as team mates can revive you if you go down in battle, and your allowed more than one save slot to save different games, ect.

I can see this series being a Halo special. Just look how they are milking that series now. With pointless prequels and RTS games and other gumpf. Talk about beating a dead horse.

There could be other people and places to explore absolutely,with the end result 10 total games set in the gears universe. But thats it,in some peoples opinion 3 is enough. They cant make the graphics or physics any better the 360 doesnt have anymore horsepower. IMO gears1 looked better than 2. They went away from the grit and got too colorful/foliage looking with 2.So maybe gears3 on nextbox would be a good idea so they can take that Ladanian Tomlinson in his prime over to the better tech before he gets his ankle snapped by Lawrence Taylor.

I respect your opinions on Companies scattering sequels over systems but Halo and God of War are examples of bad release dates in the life cycle of the system. Especially GOW. Even though Halo1 was a very early xbox title,Halo 2 came out kinda late because it was delayed forever. Gears has no detailed story whatsoever,GOW and Halo are the kind of epic games that take a real long time to develop. They threw Gears2 together really fast.

There is a lot they can do in the Gears universe. The fiction that goes along in the series is actually not bad as it is like a grown up comic book. Compelling enough.

But yeah, the last Marcus Fenix GoW game should still be released on the X360. They want to take the universe somewhere else with other people on a new console fine, but finish what they started on one.

Dude,that statement is an opinion worded to the point of the topic. I agree too. Gears1 came out and I was hooked like everyone else. I dont like gears multiplayer,I played it alittle bit on 1, but didnt even touch it once in gears2. Horde mode was cool. Like you said;I dont miss it either.......Gears3 on 360? They might end having a huge new ip going into nextbox even more stale than its getting right now.

I agree. Did you read GoW Aspho Field. I think it's a rich and varied universe that could be taken in a few decent directions. But yes finish it on the 360.
