Yeah just another thing that made no sense.
Because Greyworm said Jon must be punished all the leaders of all the major houses were like "Sure. No problem".
The Vale, Iron Islands, Dorn, The North, and others could have stomped out what was left of the Unsullied and Dothraki.
Between Arya and Jon they saved everybody and they let Greyworm tell them what to do?

Bran wanted to prevent another war to happen since so many people died at the Battle of Winterfell and the blitz of King's Landing.

Least. Satisfying. Series. Finale. Ever.

Between Deadwood, Sopranos, Game-Of, ... Carnivale.. well, shit.
Lemme just be the millionth person to say that HBO cant finish a show off worth a damn.
Any of the shows. Any.
*thinks about Garry Shandling, Dennis Miller, Dream On, HBO's Real Sex, Autopsy, Newsroom, TRUE DETECTIVE ANY SEASON BEYOND THE FIRST...*
Yeah, they dont get it. They can make cool shit in the meantime, but they peter-out, flop-out, stop giving a F. Every time.

Postcard from the North

This. So very much this.
Except not. I really didnt like worm or dany in the end.
Free the slaves. Make a huge deal out of it. Kill the evil people.
5 hours later:
These guys are expendable. I'm turning power hungry.. but like, in sixth gear. No slow-shifting this whip.
Also, those guys are asstwats, I have no sympathy for the people.
Everyone else, ever: But.. without the people, there isnt anyone to appreciate a queen. Dont you care, anymore?
Dany: I'msorrywat? I wasnt listening. Check this facebook video, bruv!
Aegon Snow: I made a mistake. Begone, thot.
Bran: I DONT WANNA BE KING BUT WHY DO YOU THINK I CAME KING ME BITCHES!
Varys: I'm so glad I didnt have to watch this shit unfold like the fans did.

I know thats what they said but its still a lame excuse. It wouldnt have took to much to destroy what was left of the unsullied and dothraki with all those fresh armies from the great houses. Jon deserved more after all he did.

I believe thats because by the final seasons hbo and other networks have already made their money off of us so why bother going out of their way to conclude something properly. Just get it over with as quick and cheaply as possible. They don't care about us or their work. Only money.

GOT copied Breaking Bad, killing off the flawed hero, but everyone lauds the writing. Reality check; Stephanie Meyer is probably the best writer in popular culture in the last thirty years.

How is preventing war lame? They talked it out so no blood would be spill. There's that quote "Enjoy life, it has an expiration date". At least Jon gets to live (again), he's free from all the royalty/political crap.

It wouldnt have been a war just 1 battle between soldiers.
A battle against what was left of the unsullied and dothraki against the entire armies of The Vale, The Iron Islands, Dorne, Storms End, The North, ectectect.
Which in reality would have been over before it barely started.
Only problem is The Unsullied had Jon and Tyrion. That was their leverage.
Tell the unsullied whatever you need to get Jon and tyrion back then wipe them out. Kill them all.
They have no right to tell the New King and all the people of Westeros how things will be.

No way they would have just sat there and let the frail remains of two heathen armies of dead Dany dictate terms.

Then again youre right about Jon, I think he's happier freeezing his balls off with the wildlings.

The Unsullied and Dothraki don't actually need Jon and Tyrion. They have the ability to increase their numbers to record size out of nowhere. It's as powerful as an RKO.

Greyworm and the Unsullied don't follow the ways of Westeros to settle things with one-on-one combat. They made a compromise to preserve the peace between them and the kingdoms of Westeros which is better than senseless blood shedding. After all, they're both indebted to each other after saving the world at the Battle of Winterfell. Jon is already used to the cold weather since he grew up in Winterfell.

I agree. And don't forget Rome. Had GoT not come along, Rome was actually supposed to become their blockbuster swords and sandals show. In the end, they finished that show off with a possibility that it might return or become a movie - neither of which happened. So it ended with something of a whimper. And how about Treme? Does anyone even know what that show was about? Or Luck? What kind of goofy shit was that?! Yeah, Dustin Hoffman as a tough guy. Real believable. And as great as Boardwalk Empire was for awhile, I didn't even bother to watch the final season. For me it ended in the season prior to that, when Richard, the WWI vet, was killed off. It got rather silly after that.

I thought that HBO did a good job with how they ended The Wire though. That show almost seemed real and had a way of getting inside your head and soul. Unlike this show (and Lost), the writers and producers of The Wire (and Breaking Bad) ignored the fan sites and whiny audience focus groups, and just continued telling the story that they wanted to tell - and it was like watching a great novel play out. But anyway, I dropped HBO a couple of years ago and don't miss it at all.

The best review of Season 8 I've seen. The guy calmly nails it as far as all the things that were wrong and how they were wrong. Pretty good

What in the Seven Hells are you blathering about?

1st- Targeting unarmed civilians is a war crime. Its also inhumane.
Did the people of Kings Landing ask the Targaryan bitch to be their Queen? No.
Did they ask that Lannister woman to be their Queen? No.
They had nothing to do with any of it. They were innocent. They were not a threat nor were they ever.
The battle was between Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister and their armies.

Add to that the battle was over and the Lannister Army surrendered therefore any killings after that were no longer an act of war but an act of murder.

Add to that although Daenarys won the Iron Throne she still spoke of continuing military attacks which would have led to so many more people killed.
In order to do that she would need a lot more soldiers than just what was left of the Dothraki and Unsullied.
How would she have gotten them? By threat of death of course. Fight for me or die.
Only one word for that- Tyrant.
Jon did the right thing by killing her.
