Game of Thrones

Anybody else hate waiting a month for the new season to air?

God YES! The waiting is KILLING me!!! :suicide:

I recenty finished book #3 (A Storm of Swords) and #4 (A Feast for Crows) in the series. Dudes, I won't spoil things for anyone who hasn't read the books (assuming the series even remotely stays true to the novels), but there will be a few moments when you'll sit bolt upright and shout to the TV, "Holy shit!" or "What the FUCK!?"

I can't flippin' wait. :woot: :woot: :woot:

Ep. 309 – The Rains of Castamere

BTW cindy, kudos on getting through Crows which in my opinion is a bit of a slog. Your reward though is getting to read A Dance With Dragons which I thought was excellent. There is some wonderful dialogue early on just prior to a beheading (no, not a major character, else I wouldnt mention it) that is really satisfying. Gives you a real sense of "you're getting it now, you fucking twat."

It's even worse if you don't live in USA; hence piracy being off the walls.

My problem is that the channel that airs it over here one day after the States, Sky Atlantic (a/k/a HBO really), is one we don't have. We have bloody dozens of channels, but not Atlantic. So basically I'll be tizorrenting the episodes the day after they air across the pond and sticking laptop into the TV via HDMI cable. I feel like I make up for it though by buying the official DVDs with their lush boxart and extras rather than just burning DVDs of the downloads.

I have not read the books

I have to wait even longer because I force myself to wait until the whole season is done and then watch it all in one weekend :(

When I saw the trailer for the first time, it said it was airing in a month. I looked at the screen and said "You fucking assholes, now I'm gonna have to wait a month"

Oh gosh, I admire your self-control. How do you do it!? I'm too weak to wait more than a day ...

It's true about "Crows" (although there were some real good parts with Cersei ;)) I was about a third of the way through and was wondering what the heck GRRM was up to. But I then heard that the original story for "Dragons" was waaaaaaay too long on its own, so the plot lines were split between the two books and run parallel to one another. Once I heard that, I found it easier to push through. I've been listening to the series on audio and plan to start "Dragons" this weekend!

Finished book 4 yesterday :yesyes:

As I may have mentioned, well done. All the politics, Martells and Brienne walking places would be easier to put up with if the three most interesting characters weren't carved out and kept for Dance. Splitting the two books between two casts rather than chronology was a decent idea but in practice resulted in very uneven books. But as I have also mentioned, the reward through getting throw Crows is reading Dance which is absolutely superb, with a rip-roaring climax.

I didn't even know book 5 wasn't a chronological follow up until I read the writers note on the last page of book 4.
Book 4 wasn't that bad in my opinion but yeah you do kinda miss Tyrion, Bran etc.
