Fuck all Religion!

what the fuck's that supposed to mean?

Well..

You were poking fun at his story that God gave him things like pot and tits etc...
You listed who actually gave you those things in a way that applies logic to the situation.

I, playing devil's advocate for Tittyman5000 in a sarcastic manner said.

"God works in mysterious and unconvincing ways? :dunno:". The point that his argument failed to convince you at all despite his proclamation.

Twas only a joke. Which seems to have been a huge success.

Oh I see. At least you recognized the proclamation that god provided him anything at all is merely conjecture and speculation at best.

I went to a Roman Catholic school from the 2nd grade to 8th. About 85% white, the rest hispanic and asian. I have to say that the head nun, or mother, was very racist. She would say to us if we were acting up, “ Keep it up and we will start to let blacks in". WTF?

Wow

and if you straighted up doesn't that mean you're a racist too? :D

Thats the reason for my original post. After half a life of devotion, prayer and sacrafice, I finally had the courage to break free. Prayers are not answered, there is probably no god, and if he knows everything, he knows I am a sinner and that would mean mean he would create me for everlasting torment in hell anyway? What kind of god is that?
What the fuck? If god ceated everything, he created the devil and evil, and if he knows everything, can one really have free will? Fuck. My new religion is fuckin porn, because at least you get something (a fuckin hardon) from that. I just wish I realized these revelations earlier in life! It is so uplifting to be responsible for one's own well being? Why does a god need praise anyway?
If you kiss up enough, do you get more? The churches would also be empty were it not for the medevial thinking that there is everlasting torment if you don't believe. Thank god the world is quickly dumping religion. The happiest countries on earth are the least religious!

There honestly is nothing worse than someone posting they're smart-ass, uneducated, hopeless, empty atheist views on folks (except maybe those who post the opposite and attack people with religious babble). There are fantastic purposes for religion, not that I expect someone who's views are founded on the basis rejection to understand. Some of the greatest leaders and philanthropists had deep rooted religious drive. Religion is hope and acceptance; belief in the face of cynical masses. People make religion and it's values corrupted, just as we do everything else, but those truly dedicated to its teachings focus on bettering themselves and the human race. It doesn't mean believers are stupid, and those here claiming it does, are simply underestimating people, their beliefs, and their ideas...

...which, quite frankly, is stupid.

I agree that bashing people is stupid about faith or lack of faith...unless they deserve it for some valid reason.

What always bothered me though about religions is the idea that their particular school of thought is the source and light of wisdom and good behavior.

Everything we do has good and negative reactions. It doesn't take a religion to teach you the basics of cause and effect or why working together in a social environment is better than discourse and pandemonium.

Religions can tend to have people that are hell bent in one direction too. The "Stay the course" mentality that everyone picked on W. Bush for.

Aside from that there's tons of charity work that might not get done otherwise because of a religion. There's a lot of people that I think are guilted into taking responsibility for their behavior and their crimes etc...that otherwise wouldn't give a second thought to.

I think the main benefit of religion is the sense of community in a tolerant setting can foster amongst a population. Not zealotry of course but a sense of belonging. I think that's probably the keystone as to why anyone is religious in the first place.

I get what you're saying. I, being Christian, believe that my beliefs and doctrine behind it are a mix of history and stories. Most believe that the Bible is either one or the other. My belief is that we choose the sins that we can live with, and it's up to the individual as far as how they choose to go foward. Where my religion comes in is just as a recognition of the existence of God. Everything revolves around that. It's like having a loving parent watching from afar, which is something we all can relate to feeling-wise.

That parent knows that you are not going to do everything for that is best for you and your fellow brothers and sisters, but also understands that the option is what give life the opportunity for greatness. I believe that all God wants is general recognition and understanding that all things in life is a gift provided daily and death and destruction is a reminder of man's total rejection of these gifts. Of course, these are my beliefs, and are mostly based on faith and doctrine. I think everyone should should take an open-minded look at religion and what it means to be religious in their own life.

Why does he choose to watch from afar?
