Yeah, religion, believing in the forces of good and evil in the universe, and believing in righteous ideals greater than yourself for no scientifically provable reason is so terrible.Greed, the lust for power, the want to control people, and selfishness is so much easier and it corresponds better to what human nature is about. The easiest, quickest, most convenient way for people to get ahead is what people really want isn't it? What could possibly ever go wrong or be wrong with thinking like that?
Remember that Martin Luther King Jr. person or other people like that. What a weakling and a terrible thing he became because of his religion.
Religion was made to comfort people who fear there is nothing after death, and to manipulate masses mostly through fear and guilt. I think we have inflated our importance in the universe way too much....if animals don't get eternal life after death, why should humans? When we die basically the same.
Of course, all this rationality goes to "hell"...when I'm on a plane that I think is about to fall and find myself praying to virgin Mary, God and every other supernatural beliefs that were instilled in me as a child. LOL

How can so many people be devoted to something that has no evidence whatsoever?
How can priests study the babble for 8 years and not realize thy are fairy tales?

The very essence of religious folk is that they believe these fiction with absolutely no proof, therefore you cannot ever change their minds, because in order to do so you present facts, but they already believe in the absence of fact.
Simply have faith in the indisputable truth that logic is on the rise, and while it won't be in your lifetime, eventually, all the religions in the world will die out. I just hope it happens before a rock from space hits us and wipes out the species.

How can you hate on something with no proof it doesn't exist? I don't believe either, but starting threads just to spew hate is retarded. Nobody gives a shit about the people that shove religion in our faces, and we don't give a shit about the people that shove their disbelief in our faces either.

The problem here is sectarianism. Sectarianism in general shouldn't exist, whether it be religious or atheistic. Enough with the broad statements about religion being pointless, it's annoying.
