Football: Can't it just go away for a little while?

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
That was back when I actually rooted for a pro football team from Michigan. How bad does a state have to be to have a team win a title in it's first year and then have to merge with another team the very next year? There was a lot of good players that went through that league.

Oh yeah I remember the Panthers. Bobby Hebert at QB, right? They had some good-looking unis and a cool logo too as I remember.

I still have a Tampa Bay Bandits t-shirt. Loved the USFL.

That's pretty brave posting something like that knowing that it's mostly men reading these blogs. My advice to you, change the channel.

In any other circumstance, that's exaclty what I would do. But, being a sports fan, I also like baseball, basketball, hockey and the like. So if I want to get sports, I have to watch a sports channel. Like I said before, don't get me wrong, I like football as much as the next person, but there's such a surfeit of it that if I want to watch any sports coverage at all, I have to tolerate football football football. All I'm saying is that I could stand not hearing about it for a day or two. Tell me, honestly, that any other sport gets as much continuous coverage as football?

If you're specifically talking about the NFL, I'm all for it. It gets WAY too much coverage on mainstream television.

Yeah, Hebert at QB and Anthony Carter at wideout. I still have my Panthers ball cap around somewhere.
