Films that make you cry

i don't watch tear jerkers very often,
but i do remember as a kid watching The Never Ending Story and crying when the horse drown

icerfan

Nikkala made me do it!
A odd one that made me cry was Sense and Sensibility, when Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant finally confessed their love for each other. Niagara freakin Falls! LOL :weeping:

Another one - Lord of the Rings/Return of the King.

Where the Hobbits bow at the King and then the whole of the crowd of people then bow at the Hobbits. Cheasy - yes. Made me cry like a girl - yes as well.

Ive seen about 90% of the movies listed here and none made me cry (although the color purple was close)

The only movie that made me cry was Awakenings with Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro. DeNiro pay this mentally challenged type guy who really couldnt talk, move, etc. kinda comatose in a way and Williams played a doctor at the mental hospital, and it was about DeNiros reaction to this new drug, called L-Dopa or something like that. Based on a true story, very deep movie. There is a part in the movie where this woman who comes to visit her father at the place, she meets DeNiro and they kinda fall in love. This one scene they were eating food and DeNiro was real fucked up saying he couldnt see her anymore because the way he was acting. He tried to walk off, she pulled him to her and they danced, DeNiro kinda had the shakes which calmed down and then stopped while they danced. Then later they show the woman leaving him and never coming back, that scene gets me everytime, and I thought no movie could make me cry.

Anybody else see that movie?

The last Scene in "Lost Poets Society". Pure poetry

and, yes, I have seen "Awakenings". A very, very good film!

the only time i cried was when i watched Lion King when i wa about 6... interesting because that was my 5th or 6th time watching and before then i just felt really very sad

King Kong made me sad, slightly watery eyes but no cry :)

March of the Penguins... now theres a sad movie(or documentary...rather) :( didnt cry but it was still sad

Rudy gets me a little teary eyed at the end, especially when the players are turning in there jerseys so Rudy can be on the side lines, and I'm not a Notre Dame fan.

"That'll do pig."
Maybe not tears, but definetly a tear jerker IMO

Yeah, kinda weepy.
And I remember crying at the end of "Somewhere in Time", the old Christopher Reeve movie.
And a off-beat indie movie, "Bodies, Rest & Motion." Sad ending.
I keep hearing from people that, that "Brokeback Mountain" is sad, I haven't seen it so I can't say.

Just watched Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and the end somehow made me teary.

John Connor's last lines of the movie:

"By the time Skynet became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms; everywhere. It was software; in cyberspace. There was no system core; it could not be shutdown. The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would. Judgment Day, the day the human race was almost destroyed by the weapons they'd built to protect themselves. I should have realized it was never our destiny to stop Judgment Day, it was merely to survive it, together. The Terminator knew; he tried to tell us, but I didn't want to hear it. Maybe the future has been written. I don't know; all I know is what the Terminator taught me; never stop fighting. And I never will. The battle has just begun."

:hatsoff: Jackson

For some reason Armaggedon....Saving Private Ryan...and 1 that i went with my gf that totally got me off guard...A walk to remember with Mandy Moore....and when Shannon Elizabeth put her shirt back on during American Pie...that was sad...

Armageddon,The Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan and The Passion of Christ. I also cried when Kyle Reese died in Terminator.

The ones based on or inspired by true stories usually get to me...
Saving Private Ryan
Band of Brothers--mini-series that was on HBO--if you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend it!!!
Rudy--I hate ND but I never get tired of watching this movie
Remember the Titans---I was surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet...the part where the white guy gets in the car accident and is in the hospital and the black guy comes in to visit...geez, makes my eyes water just thinking about it!!

i cried at the end of armageddon when bruce willis sacrifices himself (when he's talking to his daughter).

Why have so many people cried for Armageddon? I know a ton of dudes who just cry there. I mean, I think it's partially becasue it's bruce willis (who usually didn't die) and, I don't know, it's crazy!

yeah, and now thanks to my dad (who cries when viewing this film), I cry when I watch Field of dreams, the ending with the father just gets me (especially when I see it with my pop)

and when I saw King Kong, I remember getting teary-eyed in this one moment when Kong gets angry at Ann because she stops performing tricks (this rock falls on his head and you get to see that he is a tired, old, un-loved animal) and, of coure, the end, when Kong dies, it's just freakin' sad...

la bamba(when richie dies)
green mile ( many parts made me cry)
forrest gump ( when mom dies and jenny)
outsiders ( when johnny dies )
8 seconds (many parts)
mask (when rocky dies)
notebook (need a box of tissue when i watch this)
Remember the Titans (car crash)

Legends of the Fall

I remember I was watching this movie on a flight to Europe when I was a kid. I cried when many of the character died, and during the end of the movie. Pretty emotional stuff, the music is especially emotional. Luckily most of the other passengers on the plane were asleep though.
