Fans of wrestling thread

I don't know much about wrestling (other than meeting Sgt. Slaughter at a convention), but I did have a friend post this today

I don't think I've ever seen him wrestle outside of archive footage.
I do know he was a key member of NWO, and more importantly, one of the first to use the Razor's Edge.

I tend to associate it with Dynamite Kansai and her Splash Mountain, but I know in North America it's Razor Ramon's move. And it was a great move to see.

63 though? It feels like Hogan was still wrestling at that age...

Really? You and me discuss wrestling a lot. I started watching wrestling seriously about 1983 when we first got cable TV and the Superstation WTBS had Georgia Championship Wrestling. Even though I'm from California I gravitated more toward Southern-style Wrestling than what NYC had to offer.

Tvstrip, I know you are from Canada. Can you tell me about your beginnings as a wrestling fan? Have you gone to live shows?

I think Roman Reigns should star in a Samurai Cop remake.

The charm of Samurai Cop is the bad acting, bad script, bad action sequences, and bad decision by the star to get a haircut halfway through the production without letting anyone know. All that adds up to a tremendous, tremendous film. Don't forget to stop by the liquor store before firing up the VCR.

To be a wrestling fan you are better off not giving a fuck what anybody else thinks. I've never been so proud of being a bottom feeding wrestling fan after seeing this. It was shocking to combine the two(especially if by coincidence) but after my jaw dropped to the floor I fell out of my chair laughing.

-Most of the ladies matches are on tonight, so will probably take a look at that.
-I'm never a fan of unifying the main titles. In theory, it's a big thing, but we all know each show needs a main title, so soon enough they'll either split the titles again or make a new one.
-Not sure why they need 2 "celebrity" matches. Hopefully they won't take too much time. The only time I want to see that shitstain logan anywhere is if he's getting the shit kicked out of him. If his match doesn't end with him as a bloody pulp, I'm not interested. Knoxville should be able to take some good bumps, but in the last Jackass movie he got knocked out by that bull, so I'm worried he's showing his age.

I'm sure many of us are anticipating Cody's return. It would be dumb for WWE to not take advantage of stealing back the face of AEW. I'm guessing he's Seth's opponent?
Despite so many matches, I can't say there are many that I'm overly excited for. Maybe it will surprise me.

What matches are you guys looking forward to?

I'm not much for the celebrity matches but WWE is trying to attract casual fans.

I like the idea of unifying the titles so there is one legitimate World Champion. Put more emphasis on the IC and US Belts if you need a secondary title. The World Champ can defend against both brands as he is the entire company's World Champ.

I'm sticking my neck out predicting Shane will be Seth's surprise opponent.

I'm looking forward most to Reigns vs Lesnar. That's a guaranteed good big man match.

What did you guys think of WM Day 2? That Sami Zayn/Johnny Knoxville match sure was fun. Pat McAfee looked good too. The AJ/Edge match was good and Edge's flaming throne is badass. The Reigns/Lesnar match was anti-climactic. I wonder if Reigns did pop his shoulder and they were forced to go home early.

WTF was Vince McMahon trying to do in there? Linda sold the Stunner better.

I actually forgot why I hated WWE and the McMahons so much, until last night. I was planning to see Wrestlemania in a movie theater, but it was cheaper to order the network for 2 nights. Complete waste of money, and Vince McMahon proved why he's the biggest douchebag on the planet(besides Putin). 70 fucking years old, and he can't resist showing off his aging wrinkling muscles. He can't even fight a real wrestler, has to pick on an NFL punter. If I was McAfee, I'd tell him to go to hell. He has a successful podcast, doesn't need that garbage. I did enjoy the Knoxville segment, though I hate him and his Jackass crew. It was damn funny though. Still, I'm done with WWE. There are better wrestling shows out there.

Maybe Ric Flair should've considered doing acting. He'd be fit for a comedy role.
He's basically a military version of himself in Red Alert 3. You can tell he was having fun with it, and it came off really well

They even had him do a series of mini-promos as well
