Erica Campbell quits

Drugs may be part of this background, so to say the porn industry creates drug addiction is not a fair statement from Erica.

To be fair, drug use is rampant in porn, and there are definitely people that would never have started using if they didn't go into it. It's not really the porn itself that creates it, it the people in it.

I have said this a lot on this messageboard; the porn industry is full of scumbags and users, more than most people could imagine. In some ways I can see how the whole industry can wear on people. Especially how it wears on the ones that try to stay themselves in it while also staying above it. There are some things in her alleged statement I don't agree with. I don't think getting naked in front of a camera is inherently sinful for instance. On the other hand a lot of what she says has truth to it. There are a lot of rotten things about the industry. Erica was also probably stronger than most people in it and never went into the harder stuff. Just image how it affects others that didn't have the benefit of her popularity and never made it to the level that she was at that allowed her to control much of her career. I just hope if that statement she appeared to make was true that she has found some sort of enlightenment on her own and isn't just falling into a situation where she will be manipulated by just something different now.

This may be petty and completely irrelevant, but has anyone noticed the piece of jewellery Erica is wearing below? Of Course it could mean anything, but I also do recall Erica professing herself to be a Christian long before she allegedly retired this week.. Just a thought..

Best wishes though Erica! I hope you do find happiness.

Which is why we are only hurting the industry by labeling anyone who wants to enjoy erotica as "outcasts." If pornography was defined by a majority of responsible people who never do anything against the will of others, then the industry would be quite different. Which is why the calling for the end of pornography is not the solution, just something that makes the problem worse.

Because people will always want pornography. Unfortunately, as an "illegal" or "outcast" activity, it tends to be dominated by those who care less about the legality or civility of it. Same could be said about other freedoms that some people abuse. From substances to firearms. The problem is always irresponsibility and harm of others, the means are just the excuses.

I'm a male and built to fuck women. I slice and spear my wife's pussy every chance I get, at least when I'm not doing her mouth or breasts. I don't feel bad or apologize for doing it, wanting to do it, fantasizing about it or otherwise giving into my lust. Lust is not a deadly sin when it doesn't cause you to trespass against the will of others. That means my wife still has full right to tell me to stop in the middle of sex and I will, without question. Consent isn't absolute, it's something that has to be constantly re-given.

People seem to use all sorts of excuses to do different things, saying they are "allowed" or there is "nothing wrong." It's not about wrong or right. It's about what consent you are given, which can be revoked at any time by any one for any reason. Yes, some people will be irresponsible and hurtful with that too, but those are the type of people you avoid as well. I don't make myself a slave to sex, I only make myself agreeable to consensual sex and other forms of pleasure where I have been granted such freedom to lust.

I will never fret over the irresponsibility of what others do, as it is only by the responsible attitudes towards erotica and pornography that we can make things right, as a majority who enjoy it as such. It will never work as a minority among a majority of outcasts and others who pornography as the means and excuses for their much darker issues.

I have emailed the AOL address but alas, I've not had any response. To be honest, I don't really expect to. I get the feeling we have heard the last from Erica.

I think after this length of time, we can assume that this is genuine and that it was not down to the website getting hacked.

It is quite a surprise as only last week, Erica was on her site answering questions about trivial stuff as per usual but there were a few tell tale signs that something had changed. That is what was so lovely about Erica - she shared so much of her "real" self with her fans. Perhaps it was this part of her personality that had caused her some problems over the years too.

All I can say is that I am absolutely gutted that we won't be seeing her again. Nothing will replace her incredibly sexy smile, the deeply sensual look in her eye, her beauty, humour, positivity, and genuine lust for life that her fans had come to get to know over the past few years. I even feel bad looking at her sets at the moment!

It would be nice to have a final parting message from Erica on the board though, just to put an end to all this speculation. Still, whatever she is doing, I'm sure that this period in her life is more difficult than we could possibly imagine. I wish her all the best and hope that things work out.

Yes but what im getting at is that a certain type of person gets into porn. They may never have done drugs beforehand but the persons background has led them to porn. You rarely hear of a porn star who has a Bachelors, Masters or PhD. Most people in the porn industry end up in porn because they do not have the skills to make it in a 'normal' job. Having said that im sure there are a few exceptions.

Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good."

Some of you may not like what I'm about to say, but I'm gonna say it anyways.

Honestly, I'm tired of all these fucking whiners. "The adult industry is bad... it ruined me... I can't handle it anymore... I'm devoting my life to God"... Fuck that! If you can't handle the choices you make in life, then it's your own damn fault. I wish people would stop trying to throw the adult industry under the bus because they weren't strong enough to handle their career choices.

If you join the military, you'd better be prepared to shoot and be shot at. If you can't mentally handle seeing people get blown up and die, then the military is not for you. By the same token, if you can't handle doing sexual things on camera then the porn industry is not for you.

I have no sympathy for Erica Campbell or anyone else that "quits" the porn industry because of their own poor choices in life/career. And then to have the nerve to speak out and bash the industry that made you who you are today and provides steady income to so many people.... I say FUCK YOU to all of these people, and may they have a nice life. Good riddens.

This may be true... but for those whom it does apply, that's not an excuse for them to try and railroad the industry by saying they got screwed because they had "no other choice" in life. There's always a choice, and if you make a bad one for yourself, I don't believe you have the right to blame it on anyone but yourself.

While I wish her the best my feelings are in line with yours.

It's good to be the king...
Her time was coming anyway. There is a constant flow of new, young, lost girls who are willing to bare it all for some extra cash. Her images will live on in the digital world forever. Good luck to her!

Sorry, this doesn't stick too well ...

You rarely hear of a porn star who has a Bachelors, Masters or PhD.
Actually, it's also quite similar in the entertainment industry in general for actors and actresses, much more media celebrities in front of the camera. So that doesn't stick too well. ;)
