Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Seen a video of that game, is it similar to Skyrim ?? Any coop locally ??
Skyrim DLC has no release date yet but rumours are mid-late summer, so probably have lots of time.

Any idea on the scale of it? I mean is it gonna be like The Shivering Isles with a big chunk of land you can travel back and forth too or like one of the fallout DLCs that you could bang out in a few hours.

Anybody sign up to be a possible beta tester for the dlc?
Thought about it but no.

Couldnt find any specifics but E3 is only 2 days away which is where we'll hear more info.

Has anyone played the DLC yet ?? Im itching to grab it but its price is holding me back at $20/1600cr
If you have, how long roughly would it take to play through it ??

I've played Dawnguard most of the way through (I'm on the last quest, i think), and It was totally worth it. I'd say about 10-12 hours (on one playthrough, not both factions) if you don't rush through as fast as you can. Plus, I don't know if there's stuff to do afterwards, like with the guilds from the main game. There is, however, 2 ways to play DG. Early on, you'll be forced to choose whether you want to be a member of Dawnguard or a vampire (it doesn't matter if you're already a werewolf, you can switch). This apparently makes it worth trying both ways. I've only done it once (As a DG member), but I have to imagine that the vampire side is mostly the same quests with reworked motives and dialogue. The new vampire abilities are pretty awesome looking (like I said, haven't tried them yet), and both Vampires and Werewolves now have their own perk trees with rewards and upgrades. As for new locations, they don't actually add a whole new land mass to the map. There are a couple places that have been added outside the main map, but for the most part the new locations are all on the original map. These include new caves and unique ruins and forts. The loot is pretty good as well. You can now use upgradeable crossbows and smith dragon-bone weapons (all of which look awesome) in addition to new suits of armor and weapon sets. And that was all stuff I noticed on the DG side, there could be more if you choose vampire.

Overall, I'd say this was definitely worth it, especially if you're one of those ppl that loved Skyrim, but beat most of it and got burned out on it a while ago. I was, and after buying this, I found myself happily tying up loose ends I'd abandoned long ago because I was burned out. Yes, $20 is kind of steep, but it was totally worth it.

Sounds good to me.
I wanted to return to Skyrim for a while but since Ive completed the game, aside from some meaningless side quests, I didnt have any real good reasons to.
This will be good return on top of all the other updates for combat cam angles, combat from horses etc...
Thanks.

No problem. I assume you're on the 360 (you mention 1600 msp). I don't know if you're an "achievement-hunter", but they put in a few that will make you want to stick around and play for a while to get all of them (Collect 10 Werewolf Perks; Collect 10 Vampire Perks; Kill a Legendary Dragon; etc).

Have fun.

Like I always tell my achievement-hoar wife. I never really play for achievements in the beginning for any game, but if I really like a game it helps to extend the longevity and replay value before I sell it.

Yeah, it's one of the reasons I never trade in my games. I'll get a new one and play it a bunch and get kind of tired of it. After a while, I go back and get as many achievements as I possibly can. Not only does it run up the gamerscore (which after countless hours pondering the subject, I still don't know why I care about it so much), but it gives you incentive to go back to a game that you might have forgotten about.

I have a limited edition strategy guide for the game which i don't even own or plan on getting, so if anybody is interested let me know. It's a hard cover book about 400 pages and is in mint condition.

I want it for sure. Any idea on a price?

According to ign it will be 400 Microsoft points so not much.

I have Skyrim on PS3 and I've pretty much given up on it. Too many bugs are preventing me from completing quests. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game for the most part but it just got annoying.

If you people loved this game I highly recommend Dragon's Dogma (I'm probably sounding like a broken record) but it's got a huge world and the combat is way more fun than Elder Scrolls

You are right cowboy, I've pretty much given up on it too but occasionally it works atleast for s little while

Ya kinda sucks that the PS3 version is so buggy still. Im surprised that Bethesda can't get their shit right and fix it already.
