Well, the trailer has finally dropped and I have to say, it does look better than I expected. Being a massive fan of the original series of books and the original movie, I'm being cautious about the remake. But the trailer does look to have some of the bits they couldn't manage in the 80's. So I will be chancing it and going to see this one in the cinema.

Assuming of course they all haven't been shutdown again by December.

I'm not going to watch the trailer as I don't watch them but I'm a huge Denis Villeneuve fan and I'm stupidly excited for this. Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival were both fantastic so here's hoping his streak of great sci-fi continues.

OMG I got chills! Floyd Dark Side of the Moon, did you hear that. Can't wait big fan of the Herbert books and the original movie

I got into it through the genre-defining computer games. I hope they keep some of those elements, or at least make some reference to them.

I saw the first film high at a party that everyone left or crashed out and I got caught up in the messiah epic thing I loved it. I read the books but I crapped out about halfway through the 2nd or third one I forget. I should read them again

We were too young to use ( or even get our hands on) drugs, so we got chunks of brown sugar, or powdered candy (like pixie sticks) and threw a little real spice like cinnamon or nutmeg to give it some color and pretended we were high on spice while playing the game. We didn't really know how it was supposed to look, but in the game it had a brown cinnamon look, so we went with that.

We had wild imaginations as kids.

Read the original series, Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse Dune. Stay clear of the prequels and all the others until after you read those.

I did in fact I remember now I read all but Chapterhouse because he didn't finish that one
