well, i guess it's pretty fair that I AM starting this thread, right? :)

this is gonna be interesting...

Re: Do you get mad if somebody revive and old thread?

I guess its depends on if the topic has been discussed to the point that it cannot progress any further than yeah it should stay buried.

Nah, I just hate this guy STN...or SBTN something something something...

He is so annoying! :D ;) j/k

For me it depends on the thread and what kind of bump it is.
If its a topic which is definately not interesting anymore then why bump it?
Or if its a totally useless and/or off-topic bump which doesnt contribute anything to that topic...Go to Hell!

But I think there are some threads that are old, but still "in fashion" or interesting and I dont mind if someone bumps them.
(In this case its actually better to bump/revive this thread than to open a new one!)

If there's a thread title that fits what you want to talk about (even if the previous discussion under that thread title does not), why not just bring the thread back up with a renewed discussion? Slows down page build-up.

I do not like it *only* when new post is stupid and even offtopic. Also it is not very clever to start "conversation" with those, who wrote their thoughts 3 years ago.

example of maybe the most stupid bump ever:

But when it is a good post on topic, I think it is nothing bad in bumping old threads. I agree with M12, that it is even better than creating new one with the same topic.

Hell no! Pile on, as long as it's in context and relevant.

It helps to use the search function within the particular thread . .
of course it helps to have a fully operational server

It doesn't appear that the "thread deputy" (in his own mind) will be back any time soon. Pile on ! just use your best discretion. :2 cents:

It's "OK" to bump old threads, yet, I wouldn't fill the board up with them ! for krist sake !

if it's a good old thread... it's ok to revive it!!

I only object when the bumper doesn't have anything significant to add to the old thread, if they're responding to something someone posted within the thread years ago, or if the old topic getting bumped is ridiculous or against board rules. Unfortunately, I would say that at least half of the old bumps in the talk section meet one of those criteria. Perhaps the most frustrating thing is that the ridiculous bumps that fit my criteria are not against board rules. In those cases it is also not against board rules to voice my displeasure with the bump.

I don't mind if it's something that's relevant/interesting/worthy of a revisiting. However, there's some people that seem to devote their every waking moment to digging up threads made years ago. That's just as bad as starting multiple threads on the same question, posting pointless threads with no real content, post-count padding, etc.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I know when I want to start a certain thread; I search for it 1st but the problem is whenever you do a search you get 10 + pages of results; and if I don't see anything related to the thread I wanna post; I just go ahead and start a new thread; I am not gonna browse through 10 + pages to see if a thread has already been covered on the board! sorry but thats the way I feel about it! :dunno:

You're fucked if you do and you're fucked if you don't. Some people get mad if someone revives an old thread and then there's the people who get mad if you don't use the search function. Seriously, who gives two shits?

I actually like it when people revive threads..
