No I don not believe in god or religion.
To me science has advanced far enough that we have answers to the questions that religion and god were created to answer.

And the answer to the whole "jesus" thing is:

He was a Jew that got so wasted one day he started to think he was the son of god and rather than looking like a fool the next day decided to roll with it, and with the help of his friends and family preformed so called "miracles"

There is no conflict between religion and evolution. In the US mainstream Protestants, Catholic and Jews have no problem with it. The Pope even said there is something to it. Only a relatively small number of Protestant denominations believe there is a conflict. These small groups do not speak for Christianity.

The Theory of Creation is Proven True

No offense Frezz but that's pretty weak.

Here is a link to the "Clergy Letter Project" website: http://www.butler.edu/clergyproject/religion_science_collaboration.htm

It is an open letter with more than 11,000 signatures of US clergymen that except evolution as scientific truth.

What does it mean? It means that even your preacher has given up on denying that evolution is true.

The logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes, is questionable at best.

I don't believe in preachers, they have proven themselves to be liars time and time again. So why would I believe them when they say evolution is true.

Most preachers lie not because they want to, but because that is they way they were taught.

I believe in god!

^I know you do. I'm not trying to convince you otherwise. As I know that would be an exercise in futility.

One cannot convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep-seated need to believe.

I believe that instead of "God creating man in his own image", it was man who created God in his image : intolerant, sexist, homophobic and violent.

I believe in God. My specific belief is that He created the world, set it in motion, but does not intervene. I also believe he may provide for some sort of afterlife, but my feelings are mixed on whether I believe that or not.

If you're going to Quote please Quote the whole verse.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

I think it is safe to say that most people that believe in God that are on here dont go to church.. Cuz that is how it is for me. I believe you dont have to go to church to believe in God. Anyway I got a movie for everyone to see that has posted on this thread. The movie is accepted and what it basically is about is what we have all been posting on the idea of evolution and creationism..

I dont believe in God anymore.. I use to. but man killed it. I do believe in something called Faith and that was here before any God

Senator you may step down from the podium

Sure....why not. Yes. I have nothing else to believe in. Life sucks believing that your reward is a pine box. No reason to live then. Livin' life like Sisyphus would suck bad....

And it's where? :dunno:

By the way, after reading more of this discussion, I feel I should clarify my beliefs. As stated above, I DO believe in God. But I also believe in evolution not creationism.

I think its silly to think that the whole universe is here by complete accident, everything just fits and works too perfectly - so to me its logical to believe that something designed it...

But I also think its silly to believe in a specific god based on some scripture that could have been written by anyone...

I also think that most (if not all) religious books preach a lot of hate. And I think that people who worship these gods should stop being blinded by their love for a second, and read through these books unbiasedly to get a true opinion on how loving their God really is.

I think if there is a God, he or she or it will be nothing like these books tell us. And if i'm wrong, then I want nothing to do with that God! Whatever the consequences are.. I have my own morals and don't need someone else to tell me whats right and wrong.

xx

As an atheist I find it difficult to discuss these things with people on the other side especially when they say things like I don't believe in religion but I do believe in god. They are not forced to defend hardly any of the conventional conventions then and can pick and choose the parts they want too adhere too.In catholicsm they are called "cafeteria catholics".Take evolution as an example with all due respect to my good friend YMIHERE religion and evolution are not really compatible as christian theologians say the world was only created 10,000 years ago or so and the fossil records that scientitsts have go much further back then that.IMO the evidence of the truth of evolution is overwhelming and just because it is a complex process as opposed to the simple story of creationsim is not a good arguement against it.
The basic premise of religion and god is that the world and everything else was just created for mankind. That we are special and divine somehow with talk of afterlifes and such. While I do think man is obviously on a level above most animals in reasoning ability the evidence that we are just well evolved primates and have alot in common with other primates(our cousins the monkeys lol) is hard to deny. Why do we think its all about us?Why can't we just accept that there are some things about how the universe and everything else came into existence that we just don't know and probably never will? Seeking the answers scientifically is what we should be about IMO and anything else is just tales based on little or no proof. Many of which don't fit the scientific evidence we have learned.:2 cents:

Of course I do, God has given us proof that he exists. And fact is, every human being knows deep down inside that God exists because every human being was made in the image of God.

But you have to have something to believe in. You have to have faith or it would really suck. :dunno: A pine box is no good.
