an increase in gov't spending might actually be necessary in the next
decade if the global economy ends up in a recession / depresion
- so i don't see how you can just be going on about cut this, cut that ...

... another good thing about obama is i think he would be more pragmatic
and adjust his tactics as necessary to fit the best interests of the country,
for me mccain is more dogmatic

and i see interesting times ahead in the next 5 years - in the economy and in foreign policy for two areas

McCain has a shit week leading up to the Debate, tried to postpone (or call off) the debate in a shameless ploy of political grand standing...and it backfired and he went into the debate with the world against him, basically. He did good but he needed to do GREAT to stop the bleeding.

We'll get to see some fresh polls on Mon and Tue and it will be interesting to see if Obama's lead is growing. It sounds like most people gave Obama the win and many Pubs tuned out the debate....

I'm not sure the McCain campaign is really thrilled with the Veep debate coming up soon. I didn't see Gov. Palin around at all over the weekend. She must be hitting the books hard...

Biden is much more qualified to be President than Obama. I feel like I understand Biden at the conclusion of this debate, I can't say the same for Obama.
Maybe it's Obama's associations that rub me wrong, he just seems to be concealing something, whereas Biden seemed very relaxed, engaging, approachable, less stressed and somebody that's willing to accept criticism.


Palin was as good as I expected her to be.

Neither were outstanding. It looked like a tie game to the end.

Palin switched too many subjects and just because she said 'I may not answer questions the way you want me to" doesnt let her off the hook. Overall she switched tracks too many times and referred to a track record that simply doesnt exist. Governor of Alaska = not VP.

Biden skipped a couple beats, gave a couple of overdramatics and theatrical performance when reality would suffice. But he didnt skip over important issues nor mix vague party politics like Palin did when she didnt know 100% where McCain stood on the issue.

Overall.. I'm impressed AND disapointed. I wanted them to tear each other apart... but I respect them for being controlled.. disciplined.. restrained. Honestly though.. Biden didnt show much restraint when he smiled and laughed at Palin's inexperience. I praise him for showing that human side of himself.

Palin? Joe Six Pack will support you. Will he support McCain? Worst of luck to you, I'm not on your ticket's side. ::flicks off the repubs again::

Not bad overall. A constant stalemate as far as overall, undeniable winner. She just sorta stood there and seemed stiff. He didnt get a chance to rant and rave and show his passion for politics. :shrug:

I'm biased, but I thought she did well. The discussion on the networks right now is almost universally "she exceeded expectations". Which is not to say that she necessarily won, only that most people were braced for the worst and saw something much better. The contrast will work to her favor, and may have even been planned all along. Overall, my opinion is that Biden won on policy points, Palin won on personality points, but neither one really bombed on either category.

After watching the Vice-Presidential debate I say overall it was a tie but with an edge to Joe Biden. I felt that Joe Biden was more equipped to become President if God forbid something were to happen to Barack Obama. Sarah Palin did a lot better than I thought she would do but I did feel that she backtracked a lot to subjects that she was more comfortable with than answering the actual questions that she was asked. Overall Sarah Palin helped Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin did not help John McCain.

Palin had prepared answers for questions. She need not worry about an unexpected questions because she was trained to give the answers even when they did not have any thing to do with the question. Palin has become a politician. Somebody should have called her for not answering the questions.

I watched some of the debate and most of the post debate summaries and what the national overall grades were, from a national perspective @ who won the debate!

I must say palin didn't embarrass herself like I was hoping! she was pretty impressive as far as representing herself! she did well considering she was expected to be a train wreck!

Albeit she did NOTHING to help McCain or the republicans, they are pathetically falling into the post bush ticket that will bring the same misery, mistakes and unethical representation across the board!!

I think BIDEN did a great job reminding everybody what bush has done to OUR COUNTRY as well to the REST OF THE WORLD with his DICTATORSHIP!!

I almost shot the TV when she said that the Obama / Biden were throwing the white flag of surrender in reference to our image if we were to *END AN ILLEGAL WAR THAT BUSH SHOULD HAVE NEVER STARTED WHICH BTW, WAS A TRILLION DOLLAR MISTAKE!!!* according to her thats not what the nation wants or needs to hear and definitely not what the troops needed, or should hear!
