Damn! Splinter Cell Conviction delayed again!

I love this franchise and am excited about the next installment. The whole look, direction, and the whole new playability the game seems to be offering!

It is delayed from being released this fall to about three months into next year. The waiting game continues....

Look at it this way.

Ubisoft wants to release a high quality game, not a rushed and flawed game. The more they push it back the better it'll be.

Yeah. I think about that. I'm just disheartened, not pissy, seeing it is delayed again.

Being Splinter Cell I am sure it will not disappoint. I believe it will be great. Mainly I am just updating those who are interested in knowing about it :D

Bioshock 2, delayed, too. Comes out some time next year, early next year, I do believe.

Your point is very true, however do you have any idea when this game was "originally" supposed to come out? I think its beyond that the dev should still use the excuse that they are taking extra time for quality. I think they are having plain old problems. Of what sort, only one can speculate.

That straight up sucks that Bioshock2 is delayed, right? At least we know its def a game worth waiting for and there's so much quality stuff this year, no matter what your system, that the delay is easier to swallow.

It was supposed to have been back in 2007. When Sam Fisher had that hobo look with a full beard, shaggy hair, and running from the government. Sam's look reminded me a lot of Robert Redford from Jeremiah Johnson, and again, with the running from the government plot Three Days of the Condor. Anyways, it was delayed.

In 2006, I remember the game title was leaked with images; along with other games.

Nothing has been heard about this game until last issue of Game Informer. Now the current issue reads of its delay, along with other games.

Game Informer is my sources for this information.

As for Bioshock 2. That does, indeed, stink to see it delayed. I really enjoyed the first one and really hope the second one delivers and provides just as much entertainment as the first did, and still does! I can wait for this game, too!

So, that is that regarding Splinter Cell: Conviction :D

Would you rather pay $60 for an incomplete game or $60 for a game that's complete and has all the features the game designers and programmers wanted?

yes it was supposed to be 2007 and annonced not too long after 360 released. it was in full form at E3 this year playable and everything. so like i said the reason for another delay can only be speculated upon

Well, we had Double Agent come out in October of 2006. After that, I believe it was around beginning of 2007, there was the leak and information regarding future games, one of them being Splinter Cell Conviction.

Meh, anymore, the delaying of a game seems to be apart of life. I can wait. I have other games to play currently that will fill the time in nicely. This is merely an informative thread about the delays. ^_^

Yes theres always something to play, especially if youre like me and dont buy every new release that comes out. Im yet to play fallout3 which is a smokin game but Im waiting for the collectors edtion that comes with all the dlc. That game is a year old this holiday.

I am waiting for the Fallout 3 GOTY edition, too! I am thinking about getting the Oblivion GOTY some time as well.

I rarely buy games when they first come out. Splinter Cell is one of the very few games I ever do that with.

Right now I am enjoying my regular Xbox and the games on there. Jade Empire :D

Jade Empire was a sleeper hit on xbox. Splinter cell Chaos theory was a great game as well. I think that was one of the first ever games to display in 720p for hdtv's.

Yeah. I love the all the Splinter Cell games. The third one definitely delivered! I loved all the options I could partake in.

Jade Empire for the Xbox is one of those games you either bought because it was Bioware or you bought because it was cheap; or because it caught your attention/recommended to. I loved it. This game really delivered! I play it over and over and over! Just like KOTOR I and II.

AS for the Splinter Cell games, I cannot get enough. I love them. I like the multiple routes and options you have in the games.

I want to get Double Agent for the regular Xbox. I hear that one is actually a bit better play than the 360 version.

I heard it's delayed again! To second quarter of 2010....

 No! really? I usually get my information from Game Informer magazine. Now and again I will check out Ubisoft, but meh, Game Informer takes care of my news, reviews and previews needs :D

By the way, welcome back, I haven't seen you around here since a final fantasy thread way back early in the year. Hope all is well! :hatsoff:

Hehe! Thanks! For sure all is well...! Just been a bit busy, that's all (so the FF thread was one of the last ones I posted in, before this)!! But glad to be back...
- Oh, and FFVII came out on PSN, so I've been gaming a lot too ;) -
This was on Gamespot, I believe.
It seems that the great shift of games from the 4th quarter of 2009 to the 1st of 2010 is the main reason for them to postpone...

I have been playing the Conviction demo and i must say that i am impressed, my only issue is that it's a little short. Im loving the 'mark and execute' and 'takedown' systems, they are very welcome additions to a great game series. Fisher has become even more badass in this new outing, lets just hope that the full game is as good as the demo.
