Cricket scandal.

Re: A perfect year for Ponting.

Just wandering what any England(and Wales) Cricket supporters think of the teams chances in the World Cup. I think its a shame that there is a gap between the marvellous fightback and series win against the Aussies and the World Cup, as many of the team were showing really good form especially the wonderful batting and fielding of Paul Collingwood and the the erratic but exciting bowling spells of Luke Plunkett. Looking at the squad though I feel it is a big gamble to take Vaughn as without him the batting line up looks a bit fragile

Re: A perfect year for Ponting.

Well only three days and a bit to go now-I think that this World Cup is wide open, and anybody out of the "major" teams could win it. I still fancy England,as long as they play as well as they did at the end of the Australian tour. Anyway I'm pretty excited and hopefully us Cricket fans should be treated to some wonderful matches full of spectacular batting, bowling and fielding.

West indies good win to calm the nerves i think they have a good chance with home support but still i think australlia will win it but saying that with there promblems it has became wide open

England Won

They just said on the news that the England captain Vaughan is now the most successful ever for England. That means they'll start losing now!

Re: England Won

Just going to mention Glamorgan C.C.C as they are my team and as they have been in the doldrums I'm hoping that they are maybe turning the corner with their first home Championship win in THREE YEARS last week. One young player to look for is James Harris, who has only just turned 17,and is an allrounder of great potential. Tom Maynard,Mathew's son is another, top scoring for Glamorgan on Sunday with 71.
As for the current test series, I was hoping that the Windies would win yesterday,as I think its in the interests of world cricket to have a competative West Indies side. Great match though. One thing I can't understand is the criticism of Panesar in some papers, he's currently England's best match winning bowler, and has worked so hard on his batting and fielding as well. Glad Hoggard is returning from injury too.
