Why? I said a similar thing about Iraq when Bush was originally elected in 2000. "If Bush is elected I guarentee we will go to war with Iraq," and we did! I guess I have a knack for predicting the future! :D

I guess that means that we can tell you so when it doesn't. Well, so far, so good :nanner:, but, I'm not dumb enough to gloat. All it takes is a vicious attack somewhere on US soil and the ecomony may take a turn for the worst like it did after 9/11.

Let's hope that it doesn't happen. :glugglug:

'and the economy may take a turn for the worst'...

The U.S. dollar is plummeting. The Dow is lower now then it was 10 months ago. The budget and trade deficit's are at or near 1/2 of a trillion dollars each. And the administration's plans will apparently increase the budget deficit still further.
How long do people think that the U.S.'s financial situation can continue like this before it takes a turn for the worst all by itself?

Don't think that Kerry would have made things better. People elected a leader in which they believe, that is all.

I think you are probably right about why they elected a leader.
I am not saying Kerry would have been much better. But this administration had better get it's ass in gear on the economy soon - or, imo, the unemployment rate will eventually start to rise. It is already up in October over September.
I am no economist. But if you are spending (for a family of 4) over $6,000 of your tax dollars, per year, just to pay for the budget deficit. And the U.S. is losing money to foreign countries (in the form of a trade deficit) at a rate of roughly $1,500 per person, per year; I do not see how that can be anything but bad for a countrie's long term economic health.
And the war in Iraq is costing, what? $100 billion per year? So where is the other $400 billion deficit going?
As far as I am concerned, it is inexcusable to run a budget deficit - ever. Unless there is a war on. But the deficit shouldn't be one cent more then the war is costing. Wartime is a time to tighten the belts - not loosen the purse strings.
And I could live with the deficit more if there was little debt. But the U.S. national debt is over 7.5 trillion dollars and getting bigger. What is Bush doing? Lowering taxes and hoping the economy kicks in through trickle down economics? HAsen't worked so far. And eventually, somebody is going to have to deal with that massive national debt.
His foreign policy aside. I honestly believe that George W. Bush is not (at the present time) capable of properly running the U.S.A..
Would Kerry have done better? I have no idea. I saw little reason to believe he would have been hugely better. But when somebody is doing (imo) a bad job - they should be fired - period.
Then why wasen't he fired? Because no American President has ever been fired (re: not re-elected) during wartime. Never. I assume that during wartime, Americans rally around their President.

I sincerely hope his handling of the economy improves - specifically the budget deficit. But I honestly doubt it. We shall see.

Sooner or later their going to start to feel the effects of the bad economy. Once the bigwigs start feeling it then you can bet your ass things are going to change. By that time if Bush still doesn't do anything to fix the economy then you can bet your ass that he's going to lose a lot of support very quickly.
