My point that Christianity isn't a peaceful religion is invalid? Hmm, typical response from a believer. See what you want, deny the rest...even though history dictates and proves otherwise. Ok.
Umm, as a Christian, you are supposed to take The Bible literally. If you don't, then you don't really believe in God. The Bible, according to the roots of Christianity, is The Word of God. So, if a Christian were a true believer, they would consider the Bible as The Word of God and not just a simple "guide" that they can interpret however they want. They would believe that God's word is God's word and leave it at that. Yet, as you said, a lot of Christians use it as a "guide". Because, as I said before...
It happened centuries ago, so it's alright, guys.

No as a Christian you should take the Bible as a guide if you wish. I'm spiritual yet I don't take the Bible for it's every word. I believe in evolution/adaptation as well.
History? Sure centuries ago it was violent and part of the State. No longer. Why do you keep harping about something that does not exist any longer.
Says who? Who says the Bible must be taken literally? Like I said before, and you chose to ignore, a 4th century pagen Roman Emperor and the Roman Catholic Church. Both of which were trying to control the masses with fear. Sounds familiar.
Your whole argument is ancient history.
So, you just do as you wish, even though you believe in God? God commands you to live in a certain manner, but you just choose to do as you wish, as if His commands are nothing more than a guide? As if His direct order is to be interpreted in a way that you can conveniently morph to suit your needs and support your idea of how a person is supposed to live and not God's? You know, the deity you worship? The deity you believe created everything? The heavens, the earth, man, woman, beast? You believe in a God that is powerful enough to literally create everything that has ever existed, but you're not going to listen to Him when He orders you to do something?
Like I said, you see what you want and deny the rest. Typical believer.

That's the one thing about being Christian................freedom to choose your own personal path. No one commands me.
.
Haha freedom to choose your own personal path. I guess this doesn't apply to gays who get mobbed by the church when their personal path leads to homosexuality...
Just face it..if you're SERIOUSLY part of any religion, I mean serious in the sense that you are really devout, the church has got you whipped. They make you feel guilty for not going every sunday, they make you feel guilty for not donating your own money to them. They make you feel guilty for not helping out at their church gatherings and services. They make you feel guilty if you don't abide by what they believe is right i.e music, clothes, sexual preference. Yup that sure is personal freedom.
the whole balkan debacle was orchestrated by orthodox christians and that was just a bit over decade ago so it's not exactly in the distant past, but it's not like the christians stand alone when it comes to creating atrocity
You're only 21 and have a long way to go before you gain wisdom. I used to think exactly like you. You'll change in time.
Umm, as a Christian, you are supposed to take The Bible literally.
The Balkan civil war was not orchestrated by Serb Orthodox Christians.
Riiiiiiight... You and Vlad told me exactly the same thing, just because im not in the old folks home doesn't mean i'm not educated. You know, you really gain alot of education and tolerance in college, you should try it sometime! That is, when you're not working your dismal job at wherever the hell you work and blaming all your promblems on liberals, mexicans, and muslims.
