This is awesome. I wanna go but It's not in my area. :D

Kudos to these folks though. :D

I wonder if you'll be as thrilled about this little stunt when all the reprisal attacks against your troops in Iraq and Afghanistan come, like Petreus warned today?
The top US commander in Afghanistan has criticised a Florida church's plan to burn copies of the Koran on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The Dove World Outreach Centre says it will burn the Muslim holy book as a warning against what it calls the "threat posed by Islam".

But General David Petraeus say the demonstration could cause significant problems for American troops overseas.

"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort," he said in a statement.

"It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world, we are engaged with the Islamic community."

Army spokesman Lieutenant General William Caldwell says the plan has already caused a lot of anger in the region.

"It has amongst the Afghan people - that's correct," he said.

"It's their holy book, and so when somebody says that they're going to destroy that and cause a desecration to something that's very sacred to them, it's already stirred up a lot of discussion and concern amongst the people," he said.

so yeah, good luck with all that

Its a political season over her in the USA.

Marketing to the dumbest tools in society is so easy. Point at the color person and blame them for all your problems.

Most people come out to vote against something rather than for something.

well
1st
there is a major difference between the thing and the way we use it
for example the computer it could be used in a usefull way ((learning,Entertainment ...))
or in bad way like ((hacking, sharing -ve ideas....))
2nd

so i cant take just the -ves of th computer and say i am going 2 destroy it from the world
and also i cant say that because of the computer advantage i ll love it more than any other thing

3rd
wt i mean is there must be rational over view that helps me 2 seprate between the +ves and-ves in the time when i get confused

At the very least, Bloodshot, doesn't this make you (and those participating in it) look incredibly immature??

While it is true that, it makes the Christians no better then the other extremists. If it were the Muslims, or some other religion doing something to the bible, people would be screaming about their 1st Amendment right to do it.

Nice try. There's very little of such a contradiction to be found... I, like most (if not all) leftists I know, fully support their right to do this. It's dumb, it's hateful, it's counterproductive, etc. - but they have a right to do it - and not just a theoretical right, they can actually go ahead and do it. They even should do it - "should" as in they should reveal their knuckle-dragging true selves. I credit them with honesty, if nothing else.

:hatsoff:

Well, there's no law saying that he can't burn the Quran. All it does is make him look like a hypocrite.

I mean, how can you get on about Islam not being "the religion of peace" and are planning a book burning, when your very religion teaches you about forgiveness?

larss

I'm watching some specialist videos

I would agree that they have a legal right to do this, just not a moral right.
What makes me really sick is that Christianity is supposed to be about forgiveness and love, not spreading hate and intolerance. This congregation can not call themselves true Christians if they burn one single page of one single book of the Qur'an.

Banned?
I must have glanced over this in the original post by accident, but they are doing it on 9/11?! What the fuck man?! Shouldn't it be a day for rememberance and mourning, and not flaming hatred? Fuck you, motherfucker, I'll fly a fucking plane into your moustache.

9/11 rememberence is little more than a (rather grotesque) tool used to rally nationalism and jingoism

Those who crow the loudest about it's significance care the least about the victims of the day.

It's the crusades all over again. Holy war. Religion shouldn't spread hate nor judge. I'm a Christian but Christianity supported slavery and murdered in God's name. Have faith and believe in what u choose to and relax. This world is filled with to much hate

'Cause we Christians don't stone women for bullshit. Islam=evil. And everyone here knows it.

Come on now BS. Not too long ago we were burning women and drowning them as witches because we believed them to be the source of plagues, drought, and all other things bad. Ask yourself this: Were we so different? :2 cents:
