He's admitted that he conspired to torture - violating fed law - time to prosecute?

We've dealt with elements within our own borders who have done that and worse.

The utter irony? Watching the same people who decried what they saw as Saddam's torture of people who's crimes or accusations they knew nothing of, videos attributed to Saddam's forces committing torture with no indication of the sort as a reason why we should spend billions of dollars stopping him...These same people say we should and virtually discuss doing the same things Saddam was accused of and when we think of doing it, "so".

Situational ethics at it's finest.

when someone commits a crime within our borders they are granted certain constitutional rights and rightly so.

But enemy combatants that engage in terrorist activity outside of our borders or in the field of battle do not deserve the same courtesy. They are not part of a military that represents a country that has declared war against us.

Any individual that represents a terrorist organization can furnish a wealth of information about possible future attacks and if torture is a way of extracting information that saves civilian lives then so be it.

No one has advocated the use of torture against a soldier representing a country at war with us. But with terrorists, all bets are off.

Congratulations, you just joined the yahoo club.

But with terrorists, all bets are off.

Huzzah!

But it still doesn't make it right and excusable.

That is your opinion, much as everything else you posted.

When an individual makes the purposeful decision to go out, pick up a machine gun or a bomb, or hijack an airliner, and murder innocent strangers for no other reason than they do not subscribe to his religion and he therefore wishes them dead, then frankly, he deserves anything and everything that happens to him. Even if that means a little bit of head dunking. Or even wiring his balls to a generator and shocking the fuck out of him. He asked for it by choosing to be evil. These animals hack other people's heads off while they are conscious. They mutilate people's bodies before their dead. The blow up markets full of women and children. They are evil, and evil deserves no quarter. If you defend evil, then you support evil, and are therefore evil yourself, and as the Google guys say, "Don't be evil."

And honestly, I'm sick of wrangling with the elitist, ivory tower lunatics here who do defend evil, so I am officially banning myself from any and all discussion about the subject, forever. You guys have fun. And hopefully, for the sake of your prissy, pacifist, pussy asses, Al Qaeda never comes knocking on your doors. :thefinger

I think sporty carr put up the "babbling liberal nonsense" tag. Or maybe "ooooooooooooo! Sky shiny!!! Tough call.

I don't know, I think Hellraiser might have done the penguin one. Who could forget his infamous "Penguins are NeoCons" thread.

You could be right............HELLRAISER, which of us gets the points?

Yours is dick torture isn't it Plasma?

I haven't actually added one yet. I'm trying to think of one.

And come to think of it, it's not that fun if you already know all the ones that are on there.

It's funny to see NeoCons getting their asses handed to them yet again :)

I recall someone within the last couple of weeks owning you over the use of your favorite word. The gist of their epic ownage of you was that a Neocon is someone who formerly espoused liberal beliefs but changed with prevailing sentiment. Also, someone of limited intellect needs a catchy phrase to lump a group of people into that would simultaneously denigrate the target and identify the user of the word as someone who can't think up an original idea or insult on their own.

I could care less what you think on any particular topic because you are the type of person who thrives on spreading misery and encouraging rancor among the normally happy people who visit freeones on a regular basis. Your continued stirring of the pot about hot button subjects only strengthens my belief that you are an attention whore and that any attention, good or bad, will suffice.

I knew a kid like that in grade school. He had brain surgery in third grade and had to wear a motorcycle helmet everywhere he went. He'd intentionally get in trouble so he could face the standard punishment of standing in front of the chalkboard. Then he'd lick the chalkboard and illicit further negative attention. I think I saw him eat a couple of boogers a couple of times too.

Granted, rarely you post something of genuine interest, like how to survive a fall of 35,000 feet or a little snippet in the funny pictures forum, but mostly I think of you as a helmet wearing booger-eater.
As I wrote earlier, every time you use that word this will be posted.

^ actually, I owned your NeoCon bed buddy

Hey HELLDOUCHER. I've never in my life proclaimed myself to be a Reagan Republican. I wasn't even able to vote until he was out of office. I know his trickle down theory sucked (something he learned when he was a democrat?). His patriotism was unquestionable and his defense of America at a very scary time were what this country needed. Spending untold billions on defense was at best ill-advised but it did bankrupt the greatest threat to our way of life.

And now I will explain to you again, using small words you can understand, what exactly a Neocon is and why I could not be lumped into that category. A Neocon is someone who changes their belief system from liberal to conservative. The cliche was because "they were mugged by reality," in other words it is a Liberal who has pulled his head out of his ass.

I have never voted for a liberal, or a centrist Democrat in my adult life. I espouse genuine conservative values when it comes to government, taxes and the law. I don't care what your responses are to anything nor do I read your drivel because I don't need my mind filled with hatred and the bigotry you spew. Instead there's a few people who send me a PM whenever you stupidly use that word like a machine gun, indiscriminately shooting without regard for who you hit.

Let me know if you ever come to Vegas and I'll be sure to give you a warm reception.

...and then you proceeded to issue yours. It's not as though you're a fountain of facts yourself! :1orglaugh

- It's evil to torture, period. It's also evil to inflict a punishment on someone without benefit of proving they're guilty (guilty until proven innocent), outside of a legal system where we don't even allow torture in the first place. There is no excuse for it, not even the self-serving judgment that the recipient of the torture is an "animal" and you are a righteous being defending the innocent and fighting evil-doers. Obviously, clearly, everyone's going to work that particularly justification in the most self-serving, convenient way possible, which is why it's wisest simply to ban torture, otherwise we just fall into the trap that it's evil when they do it ("These animals...mutilate people's bodies before their [sic] dead") and defensible when we do it ("Or even wiring his balls to a generator and shocking the fuck out of him."). [I can guess the next step of your silliness - "They STARTED it!!!"]

- So, whoremaker, you are defending evil, so you are supporting evil, so you are evil yourself - do you think you should be tortured? :dunno:

And honestly, I'm sick of wrangling with the elitist, ivory tower lunatics here who do defend evil, so I am officially banning myself from any and all discussion about the subject, forever. Nice use of the Palinesque rhetoric. What's the opposite of an "elitist, ivory tower lunatic" though? A willfully ignorant, mindless lunatic who's comfortable with their history of failure?

I hope we can live without you in future threads. Is that self-imposed ban a promise? ;)

I'm not terribly worried about the Al Qaeda boys. Statistically, I have a better chance of dying in a car accident (hey, those can be TERRIFYING, too - not exactly a "better" way to die!), or, on the bright side - winning the lottery - woo-hoo!!! :glugglug:

As a civilized society, we cannot drop to that level. It says more about us than anything about them. Especially when you consider the fact that there are very much people in captivity that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The latter happens in war, and you have prisoners of war that are captured that may not actually be combatants. That's why you don't just treat them like animals.

While I will defend the former and current administrations when it comes to containing "prisoners of war," and am very much against prosecuting them with full rights equivalent to American citizens (which is an absolute first in the history of war, and a massive mistake), I cannot excuse certain actions against them. Cheney should be held accountable for ordering certain actions against "prisoners of war."

pure conjecture on both accounts. Wheres the proof that justifies the invasion of Iraq? Trace elements......:1orglaugh.

UN 1441... give it a browse. Saddam was in violation on numerous accounts and getting away with it as he became bolder and bolder as time went on.
S-o-m-e-b-o-d-y had to enforce the provisions set forth in un 1441 ...
who else but U.S. ? :dunno:

Nah, that's not that funny. Midget tossing, now THAT'S funny.

Isn't this now outlawed in Aussieland ? :D
